I used this from the output of a 4-way AV switcher from multiple legacy Nintendo NES, SNES, GameCube systems into my 55" TCL Roku TV and it worked great. Not as perfect as connecting to a genuine tube TV with AV inputs, but does the job to be able to keep using the game consoles with a more modern TV that only has HDMI inputs. This item converts the signals from DVD and video cassette players to be viewed on TV with HDMI connections. The setup was pretty simple. Just need to make sure you have a USB adapter on hand since it is not included, hence the 4 stars. Including a USB adapter would set this to a 5.

The media could not be loaded. I read a LOT of reviews, some of which raised my concern that I would have audio issues, black bars, or poor video. After this converter arrived, I installed it quite quickly (you really cant mess it up) and turned on my Wii. The signal to display was instantaneous, and the sound was actually a bit louder than I expected. See picture and video for actual examples. Please note that I have my video going thru a receiver and displayed on a 120" projector screen; as such, some of the blurriness may be from the projection quality, and not the converter. ... show more

Perfect! IT DOES COME WITH A POWER CORD! I couldn’t tell in the description, so I crossed my fingers LOL. It does not come w a usb/electrical block, but who doesn’t have a ton of those lying around!? I bought a 61 inch newer tv from a friend, after about a month, the RCA connection in the back went bad (I still use an older DVD/VHS player for my workout tapes). Sooooo, I got this little baby. plugged it into the HDMI, plugged in the power source, plugged my RCA cord from my player into it and VIOLA!!! Perfect picture. …I did have an epic fail With a little $7 job off of Amazon; it was one piece w HDMI on one side and RCA on the other. The weight and drag of the cords plus the looseness of the design proved bad. No connection maintained. But this one, this one checks all the boxes!!! ... show more

I was a little worried when the converter was producing a black and white image and no sound, but it turned out to be a cabling issue and my own fault- not the box. Such a relief! My smart tv doesn't have a place to plug my old dvd player in and this makes the transition just fine- even on a larger screen! If you have the same issue I did (i was going from component to composite! ack!) make sure everything is plugged in to the right place before getting concerned! ... show more

I bought this unit recently by mistake not knowing RGB adapters existed. If you're currently using RGB cables with your unit, this is not the adapter you will want. Your picture will be in 'black and white' and the sound will be terrible. If you're using RGB cables like I was, I recommend you search for an RGB Adapter. This unit may be useful for other applications, but not if you're in my situation (RGB). ... show more
