The rug is as vibrant as in the photo. It's super soft and we haven't experienced shedding. I have washed it twice since we received it about a month ago. During the first wash on the gentle cycle the bottom of the rug tore. I was so disappointed. I decided to keep the rug though, because my son really loves it. I did purchase carpet stickers to keep the rug in place on the tile floors, because it slides all over otherwise. It's a very pretty rug, but it's obviously very cheaply manufactured. Side note: This is the second time I have purchased this rug. The first time I purchased it I put it in the dryer. Completely my mistake. I purchased two of these both tie-dyed grey. A 3x5' for the laundry room and a 5x8' for my TV room. I was worried about creases caused by being folded and vacuum packed. To my delight, both of these rugs sucked up air and laid flat right away. Very soft and they look plush - I could not resist laying down on the larger rug as soon as it was down. I can't wait to see what they are like after a week or so of getting back into shape. I paid less than $50 for both, what a great deal. I haven't had to clean anything off of one yet and I am curiuos how long the will last. I will keep this review updated as I learn things about them. ... show more

So, I bought these soft rugs for my daycare. Now, I love them; don't get me wrong. But they are the wrong choice if you have small children. Getting ANYTHING out of them is a nightmare. Even dust settled into them. If a child happens to spill something on it or get food on it trying to pick that out is a no go. I have tried vacuuming and it gets sucked up by the vacuum. If you don't have kids I'd say it's a great rug! I am attempting to clean the ones I bought for other areas of my home that the kids don't play in then replace with play mats that are easier to clean. It's my own fault, don't let me discourage you but I'm just saying, if you have small children or if you yourself drop food in it... good luck. ... show more

Cleaning this is a pain. Take it outside and beat it, sure, but anything "clingy" still stays embedded in the deep shag fibers. It was shipped folded instead of rolled and now we can’t get it to lie flat on the ground, there’s always one corner that’s crumpled. It’s also pretty hard to vacuum because it’s more like a bathroom mat material than a carpet material, it’s not impossible but it it’s difficult. Bought the white one in June, the dog and grandkids Love it!! I just washed it for the first time, came out sparkling clean, but I had to use the big washer at the laundromat. Don't use a dryer, it will melt the fur into hard balls!! I dried mine in the sun, dried quickly, no prob 😍.
