This is clearly a quality rug that is well made and nicely designed. The diamond pattern looks great, especially with wood cabinets. This would also work well in rooms with lighter colors, such as white and beige. The 5 x 8' size fits perfectly beneath my kitchen stools and I like the appearance quite a bit. The rug material is not that soft but seems to make this rug a bit more durable. They do say that some shedding is expected and there has been some minor shedding so far, although it has greatly decreased since it was new. There's also some minor pilling in spots where the material has popped up a little bit. It doesn't bother me much since I like that it has a sort of natural look. The ends are loose and need trimming quickly, the fibers shed a bunch. even light use leaves me needing to sweep. I am worried to vacuum it because of the loose ends and shedding.

This is my first time buying a large area rug, and I love beachy looking designs, so this jute rug fits the bill nicely. The texture is sort of rough, but for the material type it was expected. The size is a great fit for our living room or dining area, so we have options on placement; which is nice. So far it seems pretty durable and easy to clean, but the fibers tend to splinter off due to the material it is, so we bought a carpet trimmer to keep the loose ends trimmed.
