  • Simple and low cost switch pod for Jeep TJ
Handy solution for mounting rocker switches in a Jeep TJ. It may be just me, but I didn't realize that this only replaces one of the two center vents. So with two of these, you could mount 4 switches. I only needed two switches so it worked out great. You will need to cut these. I used an exacto knife and scored the existing rectangle on the back. Once I removed the rectangular section I still had to shave the opening to get my switches to fit. Once they go in, they are never coming out with pretty much destroying the pod. Overall, a slick and inexpensive solution for mounting a pair of rocker switches. I recommend this product. ... show more

  • Good product
The fit was good. The color matched good. Cutting the inserts for the switches was easy. Just use a sharp utility knife and do multiple scores with it to cut through, if not then you might cut through an area that you don't want to cut. There is also an up side and a bottom side to the inserts.

  • Good Stuff.
Love these, they fit perfectly in my 2000 TJ Sahara. I bought 2 of these, and my biggest...actually my ONLY issue with these is the fact that you have to cut out the slots for the switches to mount into. Why the F would they not have the holes cut out for people to mount switches in? The have an outline of the slots, but you still have to forcibly cut through these somehow, and it can be dangerous. I had to use a really sharp but strong knife to do so. It was sketchy.. Other than that they went in easy, and quickly. They look clean, solid and professionally done. The old vents just pop right out forward of the console, you do not even need to remove the dash just pull the vent out toward yourself, then pop these right in. The only thing you might need to take anything else off is to run wires. The switches I used were: XT AUTO 20A Car Marine Blue+Red+Green+Amber Light Toggle Switch Dash 4pin 4-pack (fit perfectly). ... show more

Awesome product, does exactly what it says and without an problem. The back has two "half cut outs" so you can install one switch and leave the other cut-out in so there isn't a hole. All you have to do it keep scoring Until you cut through the plastic and the switches snapped perfectly. It's almost impossible mess this up. It looks awesome as well. ... show more

  • Great switch mount for my 99 Jeep Cherokee XJ
Works perfectly! I'm not sure why it says it won't fit a cherokee xj but it fits mine perfectly. It will fit any xj years 1997-2001.

  • I was skeptical but this low cost rocker solution impressed me!
I was skeptical that i was going to like the product but due the the price point I figured you can't go wrong as it's only a few bucks. Once I got it I still wasn't sure until I snapped it into place without any rockers in it. It looked good, even natural! You should note that you loose the vertical swivel with these, but in all honesty air conditioning shouldn't be your first concern in a TJ!! Once in place the vent is solid no moving or shifting as you hit the rockers. The two rocker slots need to be cut out and the guides make it easy to do so. I had to trim a bit more than the guides to get my rockers to fit but once in they looked very clean. ... show more

  • It has been said that you will need to cut out the switch openings so wasn't a surprise.
It has been said that you will need to cut out the switch openings so wasn't a surprise. If they had come pre cut out it would be a no brainer for a 5 star. Great fitment and they look great Pro tip: if you are going to use a razor blade to cut these out consider warming them up first. I have a heat gun but you could dunk them in hot water and then the blade will cut right through them. ... show more

  • Great idea, terrible design
The opening is not wide enough between the two vents on the side. Rugged Ridge, this is a great idea but your engineers need to learn how to use a tape measure. I can tell from other reviewers' pics I'm not the only one who experienced this issue. Perhaps I am the only one who let it be a deal breaker, though. My switches would rub each other whenever thrown, and did not allow for the positive, smooth clicking action these switches normally produce. This is such a large oversight and so easily rectified it's maddening. I likely will never purchase something from these clowns again. My initial solution was to grind down the side of my rocker switch. This was absolutely asinine, but it was my solution to make it work. Even this did not provide enough clearance. Look through other reviewers' photos, and you will notice I'm not the only one who made this alteration. I ended up throwing it away. A standard 2 or 3 gang rocker switch housing actually fits perfectly into the vent recess, and I screwed it downward into my dash bezel and the result is fantastic. It doesn't look as clean as the Rugged Ridge solution, but at least my switches function as they should now. Just a few more mm's Rugged Ridge. ... show more
