I needed a rug for a back hallway but this rug color was too bright and pattern looks rather false. So returning but still hopeful ruggable will have another one that works. I bought a shorter one for other part of house and it was great fit

    • The Ruggable is a case of "be careful what you wish for"

Consider carefully where you plan to use a Ruggable, the size you want, and what kinds of stains you're likely to face. I have gotten rid of 2 large Ruggables so far. When you have a heavy piece of furniture over a Ruggable, the challenges of removing, washing, and replacing the rug, combined with wrestling with the furniture, makes the whole venture not worthwhile. Applying a huge piece of material to a Velcro-like backing is insanely difficult in itself. I finally gave up and ordered a waterproof backing (non-Velcro-ish), and put an inexpensive but easy-to-spot clean rug over it. This works much better. My last Ruggable, a long runner, almost went out the window this morning after the dog peed on it. "All" I needed to do was lift up the rug, get some paper towels between it and the backing, and then spot clean, but wrassling this rug off of the middle of a long, thin backing was well-nigh impossible. I rolled up the whole thing to throw it away, and ordered 2 cheap 2 x 5' runners at $22 each. I might consider a very small Ruggable mat. But then, why wouldn't I just buy a cheap mat with no Velcro-like backing that I could just toss into the washer? So, consider how you'll be using these things before investing in one. ... show more
