bought this to put under my office chair, to try and protect the carpet under me. I did not read the ad and purchased a shag rug... I was disappointed initially when I opened the package and actually read what I clicked on. I unfolded it, let it sit and "come to life". The rug arrived mid day, so i opened it and then immediately just threw it in the middle of the room and moved on to purchasing an actual chair mat. I let my dog in the office and he immediately became glued to the rug. He was laying on it and rolling around, brought his entire toy pile and scattered them all around. I went to walk across it and was impressed by the softness, the feeling of the rug is like a plush microfiber blanket. After about a week of dog abuse the white sections had become quite nasty looking. I tossed it in the washer(not advertised as machine washable) with some oxyclean and set it on gentle, it came out unphased. Threw it into the drier on low heat and it came out looking brand new. I would say this thing is a huge win. Id recommend for kids rooms, young adults looking to make their space appear habitable or for use in bedrooms. The quality is very poor. The rug is extremely thing and the pile is inconsistent. The pattern print was messed up and had errors in multiple locations. The edges of the rug are not even straight (refer to pictures). I also measured it because it did not take up as much space as a rug I previously had of the same size and this rug was not a couple inches shy of being the full length and width. Very poor. Given the price of everything right now including rugs this was a good buy for the price. It's thin but very soft. The non-slip backing is nice but not sure if it could actually hold up. Quality isn't great(see pic of uneven edge). Looks awful when you first open it. I put it in the dryer on low and it looks 100x better & actually looks like the ad picture. I didn't realize it was listed as a "shag" because i bought it to replace a shag but the shag is very low & more of a blanket texture & it's easy to vacuum unlike long shags. Its soft and padded and feels nice on your feet. In my opinion the price should be lower but after drying it was just good enough not to return it. Was hoping it would get a little thicker but it is soft and better than most rubber back mats. Biggest pro of this rug is ability to clean it.
