Artecho Oil Pastels has 50 vibrant colors, great selection. I've used them twice, and overall I like using them, and I like the results. You do need to be mindful of how much pressure you're applying to them as you work, as they are soft oil colors. To make them last do not overdo it. I can't speak to their durability, as I've only used them twice recently, on canvas board. I did notice that 2 weeks later the work is still tacky-wet. Wondering if a finishing spray would solve that problem. I would recommend these pastels to a student artist. ... show more

These are priced well and there are a lot of colors, so good value. They work like pastels should. My daughter needed for her art class and they are easy for her 11yr old hands to use. To be honest, this brand is the first I've used. I did buy just a set of white pastels from Meeden and those do seem softer but can't comment on the quality, but these are pretty good! I would recommend.

I needed these after I realized that mine were dried out. They arrived in semi-decent time. They are small and easy to hold, but also have really smooth and creamy texture! They worked well for my daughter's art project!

At first it was annoying how unpigmented these oil pastels are but eventually I was able to work with them. I bought them to use for a trip so I needed to work with what I had. I'm using them atop other images to tone, highlight and shadow them. They blend very well together and were cheap so that is the upside. If you're looking to use them as a glaze they are great but the opacity is wanting and irregular. One color (presumably with less costly pigment) is somewhat intense while others are weak so there is a lack of consistency. ... show more
