Directions were clear and it came either extra hardware and even a ratcheting wrench. The setup process was so easy I would definitely break it down to bring on my next move. Only complaint is that the paint comes right off if it makes contact with another hard surface. The assembly of this bed was incredibly simple. This is an easy task, especially if you have prior experience assembling IKEA furniture. I, as a female, was able to complete the assembly by myself. No additional tools were required beyond those provided with the delivery. The bed feels very sturdy and perfectly accommodates our king-size mattress. Regrettably, the bed is quite low to the ground, which limits the storage space underneath. While the bed itself is not excessively heavy, it does require at least two people to carry the entire box. The quality of the wood is excellent, and the bed has a fantastic appearance and texture. It is constructed from genuine wood, not plywood or manufactured wood. I bought the bed frame for my parents who are Vietnamese. This bed frame was made in Vietnam and I wanted to give them something that reminds them of home. Incredibly simple to put together, took less than an hour. Very sturdy, doesn’t make any creeks, it is heavy though because of the real, high quality wood. I was expecting to see the cane headboard feature as a panel, but it is attached to the wood and not see through (otherwise I would’ve given this 5 stars). I feel completely duped by this purchase. The listing photos portray a soft, muted, high-end California organic bed with a beautiful oatmeal cane insert. What arrived looked nothing like the photos. The rattan is much brighter and yellower in person and gives off a completely different aesthetic than advertised. It honestly feels like the product photos were heavily staged and filtered. To make matters worse, one of the pieces arrived with a crack. By the time we discovered how different the bed actually looked, we had already destroyed the enormous box because we had no reason to think we would need to return it. We assumed the product would resemble the pictures. That was our mistake. After assembly, I noticed this is a frequently returned item and I completely understand why. For over $400, I expected much better quality control and far more accurate product photography. The frame itself is reasonably sturdy and I am keeping it only because returning it at this point would be a nightmare, not because I am satisfied with the purchase. Buyers should know: • The cane/rattan is MUCH more yellow than shown. • The listing photos are misleading. • Quality control is questionable (ours arrived cracked). • This bed looks significantly less expensive in person than in the listing. • Save the box until you’re absolutely sure you love it.
