These are a little on the expensive side but well worth it in the long run. Unlike a flimsy metal drum dolly the drum does not shift in the Rubbermaid dolly when moving it and they double as a small catch basin for the unavoidable spills that make it over the top of the barrel.     • Does The Job Right!
Ok, this dolly is expensive but it works great.. I put a 55 gallon water drum on it and filled it up. It rolled around like it was empty. I am not kidding. In fact it rolled around better FILLED. I am not being paid for this review and I don’t work for Rubbermaid. My son works for Target and when he saw I bought this thing said “we use those at work to dispose of old food stock. They work great!” I have two more water barrels to fill and I will buy two more of these barrel dollies. Our space in he basement is limited and i may need to move these. I want a dolly I can trust. None of the others I see here are getting trustworthy reviews. You get what you pay for, especially in this case. ... show more

I used them for barrels to hold scrap shavings and they work as advertised. I purchased 6 and plan to buy more.

    • Rugged dolly for anything round
My water softener has separate brine and resin tanks. The salt tank holds 450# of salt and is located in a basement closet and sits directly in front of the water meter. To ensure access to the meter and other plumbing, i put the salt tank on this nifty heavy duty dolly so I can roll it out of the way if I have to. I usually empty and completely rinse out the salt tank every two years. The dolly makes it easy to roll the nearly empty tank to the outside basement stairs and then handtruck it up to the driveway. Just be aware that the dolly has a solid bottom with a hump in the center that makes the horizontal service convex. You may need to fashion an adapter ring to avoid having your tank tilt. The manufacturer should have made the top surface concave instead of convex. Dumb move. I made my adapter out of a 2" thick piece of polyfoam packing material I had lying around. It's just a ring of foam packing that fits inside the dolly's edge with the center six inches cut out. ... show more
