The build quality seems good. You can add your choice of grip tape on the handles. The rubber tire smell dissipated for me after a week or two, but just something to be aware of if you have a sensitive nose and/or poor ventilation.

After reading a lot of reviews, I was expecting a stronger rubbery smell to these, and was fine with it due to the price---But these had a very minor smell that was not bothersome at all...Like the smell I expect anything made of that material to have, but it wasn't strong like I thought it would be. I love these weights and have been implementing them into my program! I think they're a great deal for the price, and feel just like the weights I've used in the gym. Great quality for a steal.

They’re dumbbells—not much to be said. The material seems alright but maybe less dense rubber than those at the gym. That said, the rubber might not hold up to a lot of abuse, but as these are for your home gym they won’t be put through nearly as much use and abuse as those in a regular gym would. The grip feels decent—the knurling dogs a bit compared to those at the gym, so I’ll probably try to use my gloves with these. Not much of a chemical smell either, which was a plus. After using several steel dumbbells and had the finish break off (once a metal piece fell into my eye and I had to fish it out!) it’s rubber coated for me for now on!

Seem well manufactured with good rubber coating and comfortable grips. Only complaint as others have mentioned is they do give off quite a strong chemical odor. Hopefully that will fade over time.

A box with 100 pounds of weights seems like it could easily break and lose contents. This box contained plywood plates on the top and bottom to prevent such a mishap. The weights were also packed in pairs in smaller boxes inside the larger main box. So no contents lost. The dumbbells' metal handles had a coating of oil that smells like machine oil, so I wiped them off, and am now waiting for the smell of the oil to dissipate like the customer reviews say that it will. Since these 8 dumbbells cost altogether only about $120.00, I'll assume that these are concrete rather than steel weights, and will treat them accordingly so that they don't get damaged. I wasn't planning to be throwing them around or dropping them on hard floors anyway.

I normally do not write reviews on Amazon since there are usually plenty already. However, the reviews for these weights really do not address the colorful ones. Also, they all tend to be negative and focused solely on the different sizing between the two weights sent. I ordered the colorful weights with the two tier rack. The base weights in 5-20 pounds arrived in two days in typical Amazon fashion. Each set was well packaged in their own box and all four boxes were inside of a master box. Each set of weights is PERFECT. No flaws, blemishes, or rough edges. I'm not one of those people that weigh them to be absurd, but hubs was curious so I did. They are all within .06 of the stamped weight which is certainly within ANSI standards. I mean honestly people, you aren't going to get perfection with this price point and convenience. I am still waiting for the tier rack and 25 pound set to arrive as they are on back order. I'm getting nervous, but I'm trusting on Besos' Boys to come through. My only complaint will sound silly to most men, but I am sure they ladies will agree, who the hell approved the 30 pound set to be RED?!?!? That red does not flow AT ALL with this color theme. There were so many other color options to go with here. Talk about a missed opportunity. Sadly, I will not be buying them as a result.
