As many people note, there is a raw rubber odor, but it's only noticeable when you're holding the weights...it doesn't fill the room. They are okay, they did smell a little bit at first but don't notice it couple weeks later. They do however stick to whatever you lay them on. I put them on a cement floor in the garage and they stuck to it, put them on a wood table for a day and left black rubber marks on that also. These are fairly priced and are very solid. I’ve been working out with them for a couple months and the only issue is the smell. It was very strong at first, so much that a I had to keep them in my garage. It’s gotten less noticeable now but they still have a chemical smell to them
