This is really cool. My husband got it for Christmas this year, and our four-year-old also loves it. The teens think it's 'way too retro,' and unfortunately I can't play it, because the bright colors hurt my eyes - but I'm prone to migraines so I don't think it's the game's fault. It has all the classic Atari games, but you should be aware that games like PitFall, that came out in arcades only, are not on this console. This isn't just a nostalgia piece - it's functional and we've had no hardware problems with it as of yet. We have only used it with 2 controllers at once. All-in-all I think it was reasonably priced for what you get. The only thing I would change if I were them would be to put the full game list in the product description so people don't have to search the Net for one.

Honestly this product is equal to the worth of the 4 AAA batteries I put in the included controls. ($6.75). The plastic of the system is flemsy. The IR controls work intermittently. A substantial percentage of the, "100 games" are games that never even made it to market in original atari erra. The vga connections are poor and cause the image to constantly flicker, dem and distort game images. If this game cost my less than $10.00 I would just trash it and cut it as a loss. However, $40.00 for this blatant scam is a mildly infuriating insulte the intelligence of the average consumer.

Pretty cool little machine. I used to have one as a kid and so I just had to buy this when I saw it at a local store. I gave it 4 stars because the picture isn't very good - it could be my tv, I haven't checked it on other tvs, but another problem is you have to literally point the controller to the front of the console for it to work. It makes for so,e interesting tennis games. All in all this is a fun little toy but I think it's over priced, perhaps if it was only $29.99 I'd of given it 5 stars.

I own 3 real Atari 2600 consoles and wanted to add this to my collection as well. I guess just because it was kind of cute and funny, plus it actually plays games so for $40 why not get it? I was pleasantly surprised at how well the included controllers operated. I also own the AT Games Sega genesis piece o' junk and those controllers stink. I don't even know or care where I even put that thing. They got this one right though! It's attractive and it works well.the only things I would like to see changed are 1. Add a cartridge slot 2. Put the wood grain back on the front 3. Lose the round buttons on the console (they should be smaller and silver) 4. Add a few Activision games like Chopper Command, Enduro etc...

I Love this game it brings back so many childhood memories, I also like the fact that the joystick is wireless, I am in my late 40's, and do not have patience to play games, but this is different, it makes me stop and relax for a while on my days off and have fun!!

All the games on here are just like they were when I was a kid. Controllers don't work perfectly (or maybe it's the one controlling the controllers, lol) and the games are still challenging. Not like today's video games.

So disappointed! ! Had the family over for Christmas and was planning to play this. Well it gave us a problem just turning it on. Then the screen would freeze and the buttons to control it would only work sometimes. This game did not look new. It looked as though it had been used and then returned. Extremely disappointed with amazon trying to pass this off as new!

It's a pretty good system, and full of nostalgia. I enjoy many of the games on it, but being that I didn't actually grow up in the Atari age, I have no idea how to play a lot of them. One of the flaws with it is that you don't get any explanations on how the games operate. Now, obviously with games like Space Invaders, there isn't really any explanation needed. But others, I have no idea how to play, and many of these games were made before text even made it's way into games (Adventure was the dawn of it, but even then, barely) so there's no way for them to explain the gameplay. The booklet included attempts to explain some of it, but usually more just gives you a summary of what the game is about. Also, something that wasn't immediately obvious to me was that many of the games on the system cannot be played without two people (or, to be more accurate, you can play while the other player's sprite sits there doing nothing). Many games also have various different kinds of..game modes? I'm honestly not sure, because it doesn't get explained and isn't easy to figure out. Even Pong isn't what I know Pong is supposed to be. One more note to make of it is that sometimes the controller is a bit unresponsive, but this is mainly when operating the game selection menu- during gameplay itself it seems fine. Overall, it is a fun thing to own. There are a solid handful of games that I have figured out how to play that I enjoy quite a lot, but still many that I am clueless on. I am quite interested in retro games, so I am glad I have it. However, I am also glad that I purchased it using Amazon gift cards I got at Christmas, because spending the almost $50 of my own money for something I have a very limited idea of how to use would not be fun.
