First off the carrier is awesome very sturdy and really adds to the ability to organize the Jeep for travel. The Pros 1. Strong but light weight. ( Aluminum) 2. Relatively easy to install ( will address later in the review) 3. Makes organizing the rear of the Jeep very easy. The Cons 1. The description plainly states will fit a JL/JLU, to any Jeep owner that translates to 2 door/ 4 door. Well it isn't fabricated to fit a 2 door. But you can easily make it fit by drilling 1 hole and it will fit like a glove. Why they didn't go ahead and drill the hole no one knows, there are several other holes for other models. It took me a couple of minutes and it was ready to install. I would have given this 5 stars if the holes were predrilled. I feel this is a great storage carrier and having to drill a couple of holes wasn't a huge issue. There are few items for 2 doors and it wasn't a big deal to drill the holes. In summary I really like the carrier and would I recommend or purchase this product again the answer is YES I would. This carrier will make our travels easier and more organized. I would just recommend the manufacturer to change the wording in the description or better yet add a hole and truly have one of the few carriers for a 2 door JL. ... show more

Even though some of the descriptions for this product state it will fit a 2 door JL with the back seat removed- It will NOT in its original state- you have to drill two 3/8” holes on each shelf bracket in order for it to fit securely. Not a big deal if you have some handyman skills. Once installed the unit is great- Not heavy, made of a soft metal (some sort of aluminum blend) but feels really sturdy- definitely will support the rated weight. ... show more

This is not too bad of a product for its purpose, but I think the listed price of $180 is a bit steep for the quality. I added a few pics of many areas the paint chipped, scratched, and bubbled (or oversprayed); this was the condition straight out of the box. As my pics show, this was installed in a soft top. You WILL NOT be able to put the top all the way back, I showed where the arms of the top hit the shelf; this was rather disappointing but I did not let this issue impact my rating as this was not promised in the description. I did however get a bit annoyed with the lack of instructions, I went through a 20 minute window of trial and error before I realized I was putting the support brackets on the wrong side and kind of upside-down of how I thought it was supposed to mount. It was not in any way hard, just unnecessarily annoying and time wasting. I don’t recommend installing it alone due to its large size, but I was able to successfully install it alone. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Fits perfectly! Superior easy installation. Just use the screws that secure your hard top and add the side braces. From there use the 6 screws and lock nuts provided. You get a set of six for the JK and 6 for the Jl. It is a little tricky to install the shelf on you own but very doable. All in it took no more than fifteen minutes. There is plenty of space under the cover a 70 qt rotomolded cooler forts under easily and now i have an way to store things on the topshelf. It is very sturdy, no shaking or tatyling! You just need a couple of bunjees to secure the cargo on the top. One thing that does concern me a little is the ability for my top to open. It looks like it may hinder the ability of the arms to swing down for the roof to be taken down. Its too chilly right now for me to try that. I will update when the weather is warmer. Overall, it is a great product and I cantbwait to see the many different way a can use the storage. Update. The cargo tray does not allow the roof to be taken down completely. It hits the tray and sit really high completely blocking and rear viewing capabilities. This tray will be out all summer. Back to the regular dust river to hide my cargo. ... show more
