    • Batteries don't last and no warning when they get low

I had high expectation for this safe. It is well engineered and I feel confident in it's ability to keep others out. However, the big Achilles heel is the lock mechanism. The 4-AA batteries don't last very long. I might access the safe a handful of times a month yet the batteries need to be replaced after only a few months. You would think they would build in a low battery warning so you know to replace them but they don't. It just simply stops working. Imagine needing to get into your safe in an emergency and you can't because the batteries are low. You need to go find your backup key and manually open it in order to change the batteries. Until they resolve this glaring engineering failure this is not a reliable safe. ... show more

I have recently purchased this safe, given a trail run for about a month now and i can say the safe has worked really well. at first i thought the biometrics were a bit finicky but once I realized i needed to tap it first to turn it on it has worked well on first try each time. I also find that the safe is spacious. nice leather insides with key holders and secret compartment . I bolted my safe down into the foundation and seems really sturdy. ... show more
