  • The long term review you were looking for
Purchased Oct 2020 Review written August 2023 I’ve had this thing for a WHILE and have used the heck out of it. When I bought this it also came with a hat press which I never used. I’ve never used the attachments for it bc frankly I just needed a flat press and this one is great. It’s not fancy. The timer is consistent. The heat is pretty darn close when tested with a temp gun. The results are great. I’ve done vinyl, puff vinyl, dtf, tons of sublimation. I even use it to press quilt pieces before assembling, and for adding stabilizers to fabric. They’ve all come out great. It’s a good purchase if you’re getting started. Mine is a swing, not a clamshell. I chose that intentionally and honestly that’s my only regret. The swing works fine but for the space I have it in NOW, clamshell would have been more convenient. ... show more

  • Love it so far, with some notes....
This was a gift from my mom for me to launch a creative endeavor and so far I love it. The shirt press works fantastic. The timer unit has its own personality, but that’s okay, so do I, we just needed some time to get acquainted and I learned to touch her gently if I want her to work well lol. Again, I can relate to this, so take some time getting to know your press and it will start to work with you if you are having any issues with the buttons (soft touch works best). For the mug press there was more of a learning curve, and because solid surface mugs go in cold, your mug press temperature will drop, perhaps even quite significantly. After scouring the internet to figure out either what I was doing wrong, or what was wrong with my mug press, I came to discover this seems to be typical of even expensive presses due to the core temperature of the item you are placing into the press (hello middle school science, so nice to see you in the real world. Perhaps I should have stayed awake and I would have figured this out sooner haha) anyway, all over forums people said you have to figure out what works for you so that’s what I did. Plan to buy some mugs to experiment with. I’ve done vinyl on mugs which works really, really well but not good if you plan to sell them because it’s not dishwasher safe and you know they’re going to put it in the dishwasher after you tell them not to and then complain - you know it, I know it, they know it lol. But it did work great even with layers of different color vinyl actually. Then I tried Cricut sublimation ink sheets on what are supposed to be sublimation mugs and failed bigly, however there are several things that may have caused this issue - not cleaning the mug with the right solution (you should use regular rubbing alcohol and I had higher strength which I feel may have affected the sublimation coating), I ordered the sublimation mugs from Amazon and there is always a chance they weren’t actual sublimation mugs because I mean, who knows, people get shipped the wrong stuff all the time, last is of course the time-to-temperature issue may be a factor. So again, I will continue to experiment with this and feel like it’s probably me and not the machine, and eventually we will come to terms we can agree on and work together lol. I have the other attachments for future use as I don’t currently need them. The presses attach and detach from the timer unit fairly easily, however it would be great if the unit came with a small multi tool to assist here. That one complaint. My other gripe is there was some oil or something on the bottom of the feet of the press and I set it on the floor ON BRAND NEW BEIGE CARPET and it left LITTLE CIRCLE STAINS WHERE THE FEET WERE which is great big bummer, so I’m taking a star off for that, and warning y’all not to set it down on anything you actually care about staying clean that may get stained. The swing away feature is great and feels much safer than a lift up press, however please note you will need a lot of room for the thing to swing all the way around so it is out of the way for your shirts or whatever you are placing in the press. I have mine on an Elfa rolling shelf thing (container store) that is very sturdy that I can roll away from the wall while I’m using it. I never roll it while on of course, and skinny slide out storage bins below are perfect for your vinyl and sublimation paper/sheets and I store the attachments safely in a large drawer at the bottom. I recommend a unit like this to keep your set up neat and tidy and to allow for it to be away from the wall when in use, just make sure to get a heavy duty unit for safety and stability especially if your area is carpeted like mine. You don’t want to swing around the hot press and have it fall over. I’ve added photos of the carpet stains (boooo!) and the shirt press on the Elfa unit (where you can see more feet stains where I’ve moved it’s position, those will clean off, but the carpet did not). The mug is two layers of vinyl. The sweatshirt is three layers of vinyl on a cheap fruit of the loom 50/50 poly/cotton. The tshirt is one layer of vinyl on 100% cotton. Also as a side note after much experimentation, I only use Siser vinyl. It is the best and most consistent quality for professional level finish. I have various success with other vinyl, but if you are looking to sell your items, spring for the best stuff, your paying customers will appreciate you for it. And it makes my work easy with a flawless finish and accurate temp-to-time no matter the substrate, saves me frustration and expensive do-overs. I also design all my original work in Adobe illustrator and use a Cricut Maker for cutting the designs (it’s like magic!). This heat press package was the perfect compliment! Have fun creating! ... show more

  • Great value
I'm just getting started learning about sublimation etc. This has been great for a beginner. Would love it even more if it was easier to take apart to switch attachments.

  • Buyer Beware: Very disappointed in the heat press and the seller
We bought this as a starter to get into doing sublimation. We had problems with almost all items we did so I purchased an infrared thermometer to measure the platen on the press. The temps were not consistent and the heat press temp was always 40-50 degrees below what was being displayed. We ruined dozens of pieces of merchandise trying to get this press working correctly to no avail. I can understand defective products. They happen all the time. The fact that the seller would not respond at all is the part that is aggravating (and that Amazon apparently sanctions that behavior). A simple acknowledgement of my issue would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, it sat in a box for several months because of changes in work situation with Covid and I was not able to return it to Amazon. Buy a Geo Knight if you are looking for a good press. Expensive but AMERICAN made and they stand behind their product. ... show more

  • Easy to Use & Assemble
It works great for heat transfers and im waiting for my vinyl to come in to try it with that but overall it works great and is easy to assemble. Some parts may feel cheap or plastic but those are unimportant parts. I haven't had any issues whatsoever!

  • Great for small business’s
I literally started my company 5 days back using this machine. The precision and warmth it provides helps execute my projects all the time. It’s easy to use even though the manual Isn’t that user friendly. It’s good though, already made 100 shirts within a 3 day span. I recommend not staying within the heat press too long or have air circulation, the heat it gives off gets me a little dizzy sometimes. But, overall great machine for the price! ... show more
