Instructions were not a perfect match for the actual furniture piece and certain steps were not in the correct order, resulting in having to take certain section apart again to include a missed step here and there. The biggest problem was the misaligned dowel cam lock screws on the crucial central support "leg" at the bottom of the unit. The holes don't align with the screws, so you cant lock them into the recessed nut, so the board slips out and won't stay put. So there's no support for the bottom center of the unit, where most of the weight is concentrated, resulting in the entire thing sagging/bowing downwards at the middle. It took so much work to put this thing together that I can see why people don't bother returning the defective ones. The dread of having to go through assembling this thing again from scratch makes them throw up their hands and eat the loss. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Looking good for my living room. The package is pretty heavy, I think because of the wood material?.! Not sure what type of wood it is, but it also looks pretty cool. This is my 55'' TV, this TV stand is perfect for my TV. Easy to assemble?? Simple, but not super easy.!! It took me like an hour to reassemble it by myself.! If you have someone else to help, get them. Those pieces of wood are pretty heavy. I did not want to hire someone to put it together for me so I just tried to do it by myself. Sturdy, and functional. I put some DVDs and CDs there, with my Xbox on the bottom. I like the brown-ish color of the TV stand, looking vintage. I also don't want to spend too much on a TV stand so I think this one is reasonable and not too expensive for its value. There are four holes on the back of this TV stand to hide the ugly cable boxes and wires. Overall, I like this TV stand a lot. Let me know if my pics are helpful.,! ... show more

I am a handy guy and I like putting together furniture (usually). Most of the time I can get projects like this done quickly after glancing through the instructions. Unfortunately, this is not the case for this product. The "instructions" are all pictures, providing no insight on how to actually perform the tasks. Furthermore, the instructions on assembling the center base support are wrong. I have attached pictures, the first showing how the instructions tell you to put in the screws (which doesn't work at all, see other reviews) and the second shows how to correctly put in the screws (after toying with it for a few minutes I was able to figure it out). This is the most difficult thing I have had to build in a long time. After it is assembled, it feels sturdy and does its job well. However, I would not reccomend this to ANYONE who does not regularly work on furniture like this. Five stars for the results of my final product, 1 star for assembly/instructions. ... show more

What I disliked about the item that I acquired, is that I tried to resolve my problems with missing and damaged parts. Instead, Costway refunded my money and suggested that I re-buy the item. Why would I want two of something when all I needed is 2 parts. I would suggest to further customers not to buy products from Costway. Customer service for this company was fabulous but claims department was indifferent. All I wanted was the 2 parts to complete my tv console. That wasn't asking for much even if I had to wait 2 months for the product. ... show more

    • Instructions are incorrect, please proceed with caution and follow your intuition

Flip the direction of screw type 2 in figure 6 of the assembly instructions. The fat end of the screw should be inserted into the tv stand top, with narrow end visible the screw fastener hole in the base of the stand. Logic told me this must be true, but the instructions visually indicate to flip it the other way around. Badda boom badda bing, hole punched in the most visible spot possible on my brand new tv stand. A little wood glue later and I'm back in business, but please do not do what I did. Your gut is steering you right, do what it tells you. Cheap construction, some would began to split when screws were screwed in fully, but all in all very good looking and exactly as the pictures show. ... show more
