Ok let me start by saying this is the 3rd bike I have purchased for my son in the last 2 summers. I got him a Schwinn for his first bike and the part where the pedals connect to the bike fell apart after a few months of use. So I bought a bike at Walmart and that bike again fell apart the same way after a few months of regular use, not abuse. So for my son’s 6th birthday I researched on Amazon and read a lot of reviews and decided on this bike. I am so happy with this bike and my son loves it too. Let me explain. This bike is solidly built and feels very nice to handle. Set up was a breeze. The best part of this bike is the ease with my son learning to ride without the training wheels. We had him ride it like it suggests without the pedals on and after he was zooming around with the use of his legs, we popped on the pedals which is a super easy to put on and take off. After 2 days he was riding this bike without the training wheels and we are so proud. My son was so happy to be riding his bike like a big boy and can now ride with his big sister and keep up. I am so thoroughly impressed with the quality of this bike and the ease of learning to ride without training wheels. It’s worth the extra money to buy this bike versus the cheaper alternatives online. The bike is well built and should last a long time. Seats and handle bars are easy to adjust as your child grows too. The bike is super nice looking in person and certainly helps a child learn to ride without training wheels super quickly and successfully. I wish I had bought this bike the first time around as my son would surely had been off training wheels even sooner then 6 y/o. Don’t hestitate, this picky mom approves and I highly recommend this to other parents with kiddos who need a solid bike especially one for learning without the training wheels. We have had this bike for a month and my son uses it almost every day and it rides and looks just like it did when we first got it. Will update if anything changes since I rely on others reviews for making educated purchases on items. Update: We are now a little of 3 months of owning this bike and regular use. It is still holding up strong. Nothing has started to weaken or fail on us. The part where the pedals attach on to that moves the wheels with the pedal movement is still solid and sturdy. No signs of breakage like our other bikes did by this time. Still extremely happy with this bike and have recommended it to a few other parents who were happy to hear about this awesome bike. I bought this because my 6 year old son is very tall but he is not able to balance well or pedal. He loves the smaller balance bike we had but he is way too big for it so the option to use this as a balance bike but also a pedal bike is such a wonderful feature. The handle brake is also great for working on fine motor skills. Bonus feature is the water bottle under the seat- I missed that feature before buying so it was a pleasant surprise upon assembly. My son is about to turn 8 in 2 weeks, and somehow we missed the window where most boys learn to ride, not sure how/why, but I digress. This bike arrived on WEDNESDAY, the 13th - I couldn't even get this boy to get on a bike and attempt to learn, training wheels or not. I've successfully taught his older two siblings with no problem, but this one was stubborn. We got the bike, put it together, and he immediately started "balancing" with it. Two days later, TWO - HE ASKS TO PUT THE PEDALS ON - AND IS RIDING IN CIRCLES, NO PROBLEM. My wife and I were in shock. I would pay $250 for this bike, because it works. Buy it now! ... show more

Our 3.5yo son has been a pro at a balance bike for over a year. We got him a 14inch schwinn with training wheels for his 3rd birthday and he’s a bit too short for it. Also, it’s heavy! So I bought this in 12 inches and he was bored with the balancing part after about 2 laps on our street. So, we popped the wheels on (also super easy to pop those suckers on) and not kidding you, after two more laps with dad holding onto him, he was LEGIT riding his bike! Like, he was like dad just run beside me I got this. We had to run beside to make sure he got the hang of braking but he’s already excellent at steering bc he’s so good on his balance bike. Buy. This. Bike. Don’t spend hundreds on the ones you keep getting Instagram ads for (woom I think is one brand I kept seeing). This one is lightweight and does the trick so well!
