I recently used the Spike Lawn Air Aerator, and overall, I’m quite satisfied with the product. The assembly process was straightforward and took very little time, which was a pleasant surprise. However, I did run into a small issue when it came to tightening the screws. The wrench tool that comes with the aerator wasn’t up to the task—it barely held the screws in place, so I had to grab a real tool to finish the installation properly. Once I got it working, it was very effortless to use and got the job done quickly. The spikes penetrate easily into the ground, even when the ground is hard and dry. Just 10 minutes of stomping was all it took to prepare the front lawn for seeding my mini clovers. I can’t wait to see the end result!

For the price paid, it is a good item. It's sturdy, and works well. Assembly is easy, I just wish they would add some lock washers for the nuts so they don't loosen with use. Recommended though.

This is well made and durable feeling. It was easy to put together, a couple of the bolt heads spun on the wrench when trying to tighten them, but they are tight enough. It is kind of awkward to use though, definitely would be difficult to do a larger area with it, or at least more time consuming than I expected.

I had a few patches in my yard that were struggling. I've fertilized them more, previously, but it didn't really help. I suspected the ground beneath those areas were not as porous as the rest of the yard, so I got this manual aerator to see if it would help. Low and behold, it was easy to use (follow their suggestion of running sprinklers so ground is somewhat soft) and it worked! These areas are now thriving. I didn't want to have to have my entire yard aerated by a service when the rest of the yard is doing just fine. I wouldn't want to use this device to do an entire yard, but it's perfect for trouble areas in ones yard, for sure!

This spike lawn aerator is MUCH better than the dreaded aerator sandals that strap onto my feet! Easier to keep balance, no fiddly straps to constantly re-tighten, and at least for the moment the spikes seem to not come loose as much as the sandal version. This tool required considerable assembly in the form of needing to securely bolt the 15 spikes onto the platform. The kit comes with two wrenches (one to work the nut, the other to keep the head of the bold from turning. The wrenches are made of very flimsy metal. Initially they gripped so tight that I struggled to get the wrenches to let go, but by about half way through they became nearly stripped and didn't hold the nuts/bolts securely at all. One star-removed for cumbersome assembly; I will definitely get a lot of use out of this tool, though, so it is definitely a worthwhile purchase.

I think these are safer than shoe spikes, where you risk one foot going in crooked, or deeper than the other. Also this is easier to wiggle if you need to in order to pull it back up. I wouldn't agree that it is easy to disassemble and transport, maybe if you changed the handle to two wing nuts. Mine came with only one spare spike, but I don't see needing one. As long as you thoroughly water your lawn first, this is an easy and effective tool to aerate your soil if it is compacted. It is a lot of work though, so I am using it for problem areas, and to prevent compaction in other areas. It is very sturdy and well made.

This is a yellow and black manual aerator for your grass and/or lawn. The setup of the product was fairly easy until you get to the screws, it's a little time consuming. Otherwise it seems like a decent product. upon trying it on my grass, I didn't have to use extra force on it besides my hands. Would recommend!
