I got the 16" for my daughter's 4th birthday. It was very easy to put together. You just have to put the seat on, and the handlebars. Set up is complete in just a few minutes. One of my favorite features of this bike is that spinning the pedals backwards does not engage the brakes. The only brakes are the hand brakes. This might be something you don't like at first, but your kid will love it. When my first kid was learning to ride, it was always very hard to get started because you had to have the pedals in the right position before she could put enough weight on it to start pedaling. She would have to slowly roll the entire bike forward until the pedals were just right and then she could go. These pedals spin backwards so it is very easy for your child to put the pedals where needed in order for them to start pedaling. The color is very bright and the quality of the bike is top notch. The only thing I wish is that it came with training wheels. There are no training wheels so I purchased Royal Baby brand trainings wheels and they installed very easily after I removed the kickstand. I definitely recommend this bike for beginners, but it will also grow with them and be a good bike for many years. ... show more

The Royalbaby kids bike is a good starter bike for and child that wants to get rolling on two wheels. The 16 inch frame is still a tad bit tall for my 2.5 year old but she's able to put her leg over it. I'm sure in another half a year, she'll be ready to go with the pedaling. The quality of the bike seems sturdy and reliable. There's a cover over the chain which will prevent pants and dresses from getting caught. The seat post is adjustable. The riding position is nice and upright too. Overall, I really can't complain and think this will last as long as it needs to for my daughter to learn to ride. ... show more

Assembly of this bicycle was pretty simple, most of it came assembled in the box. The peddles, handle bars, seat, and reflectors needed to be installed. This is definitely a more refined bicycle than what I grew up with as a kid, this is a very light aluminum frame, the upper bar has a indent which lends itself well to a girls bicycle but also maintains a 'sporty' unisex styling, there's a full wrap around chain guard that covers the entire chain for safety. The brakes are all adjustable for tension and color coded for easy learning of which handle does what. The rear axle is fully adjustable so you can tighten/loosen the chain as needed for proper lash. I'm not too crazy about the handle bars being tightened on the inside of the for tube with a tension grip, but many bicycles have this feature so its not something only this manufacturer does. Overall this is a light and comfortable bicycle, my 7 year old loves her new bike, and that's all I need to know. ... show more

I ordered this bike for a 6 yr old boy and the bike is very nice. The bike comes partially assembled requiring minimal steps to complete the assembly. Once you get it out of the box, you only have to attach the handlebars, pedals, seat and reflectors. The bike does not have training wheels and it also does not have a foot brake making learning a bit easier. These bikes are extremely light and this model has a very bright green color to it. This is a premium bike made of premium materials. It’s not inexpensive but, as they say, you get what you pay for. If you want to give a kid a really great bike for Xmas, I would absolutely recommend this bike. I am not mechanically inclined. The thought of putting together a bike that looks this good, one with power brakes, was a bit overwhelming – I thought: well, at least I have almost two months before Xmas to put it together. I felt even more anxious when I looked at the rather sparse instructions that came with the bike. But luckily, the bike comes 95% preassembled – and I found a couple of YT videos that completely show you how to complete the assembly. I was able to assemble it (by myself) in about 45 minutes! What I like: -- Solid construction -- Lightweight -- Beautiful neon green paint job -- Safety reflectors in both directions -- Came well packaged so there was no broken or bent parts. -- Dual handbrake levers. -- Adjustable seat and handlebar. What could be improved: -- Not much. Instructions for assembling could be improved, but I’m a visual learner so the YT videos were all I needed. I can’t wait to see the look on the little boy’s face who will find this under the tree on Xmas morning. It’s a fantastic bike and I unhesitatingly recommend it! ... show more

We LOVE this bike. The color is really awesome! I wasn't expecting it to be so brilliant. Putting it together was pretty easy - my husband was able to do that almost completely without using the instructions. The only issue we ran into was getting the reflector lights on. There wasn't anything in the instructions for that, and as you can see, we weren't entirely sure where to put the front one, so it's off centered. The bike comes almost fully constructed (yay!) and only needed the pedals, bell, seat, and reflectors put on. We also had to adjust the handles and tighten them in the right spot. Easy peasy! It rides smoothly without any issues. The pedals turn perfectly and have a good amount of grip on them. The brakes work as expected and the seat is nice and cushiony. And like I said, the color is fantastic! The biggest issue I have with it is the name of the company. Royal Baby? My SON hates having the word "baby" on his bike. Luckily, that part is harder to see, so I don't expect he'll get teased about it unless he points it out. (Which is incredibly unlikely he'd do.) I had my son sit on it for the pictures so you could get an idea of how it looks with a kid on it. (He doesn't ride without shoes.) He's eight and a little taller than average.
