I have been searching for just the right coat for years and finally came across this one! The lining is warm and the sleeves are even warm! Lots of lined pockets, good length that covers most of my thighs. I like being able to unzip the bottom for a couple of inches for when I drive. I really like that it is more of the traditional "parka" style I've had in the past, ànd I appreciate the ribbed-knit cuffs. My only concerns are that the metal zipper catches every few inches...even after I've waxed/lubricated it; and that there are not enough snaps along the length of the zipper track. I am now able to wear 1 layer under this coat as opposed to wearing multiple layers before and STILL not being warm enough! KUDOS to ROYAL MATRIX!!!!! ... show more

I honestly love this coat so much!! A lot of reviews stay the zipper would break easily but so far after having it 1 month I’ve had no issues with the zipper. It’s surprisingly very thick and cozy, like when I hold the coat up it actually feels heavy compared to my other ones. The lining is super soft and warm. Even the pockets are lined so they keep your hands warm. I love the fur hood it’s just so cute. Overall I’m very pleased with it!!! ... show more

This jacket is very warm and cozy . I like that all the pockets are lined in the warm fleece. So if I forget my gloves I just stick my hands in pockets and they stay toasty warm. While I like the zipper pockets the thing I hate it is it always wants to catch the material around it so it gets stuck alot. The main zipper can be hard for people who have dexterity issues. With having two zippers you have to make sure it's l8ned up just right to zip. I don't know if it's just mine or all, but when I unzip to take off it wants to get stuck at the bottom where it connects and not want to come apart. Other then that I love this jacket it keeps me warm, it's water resistant, not bulky feeling like some and fits great ... show more

This is a really good quality coat. First off it came packaged nicely in a zipped heavy duty bag. The zip ends were shiny in their clear wraps. This has many pockets, some with buttons, some with zips. It's the first coat I have worn with so many useful pockets. Do not worry about the zipper. It works well. Living in N.J., we've been having very cold days with minus wind chills. The Royal Matrix coat has provided ample warmth. I am generally an XXL in cotton tshirts that can shrink, generally XL in cotton/spandex leggings and cotton/spandex pants; bust 42in.,, 5'1, 160lbs. I have worn a 16 in a dress. I prefer a looser fit in clothes like tunics and tshirts. This coat's length is 37in. , and It falls to about 3 in. above my knees. This does feel a bit big (I cinched in the waist maximally with the drawstring, which helps), but I do have room to layer. I am 5'1", shoulders about 15.7in., hips 44in.and it also feels a bit long. I think a bit longer is fine in length, as the bottom part of the zip can rise to give more of an opening for legs to move and for ease in sitting. Despite it being a bit roomy, I'm wearing the coat. I always layer. Also, I have rolled the cuff once to deal with sleeves that are a bit long. In hindsight I would have have bought a 14 L, gone down 1 size, and not bought the 16XL. Don't hesitate on buying this coat. The price i paid was fair. I would recommend to go down 1 size for a roomy enough fit. and 2 sizes for a form fitting look, IMHO. ... show more

I give this coat five stars because of its style. I purchased another jacket at the same time. I like the warmth of the other jacket; however, this coat was definitely more stylish. If I had the style of this jacket and the warmth of the other, it would be absolutely perfect! Pro: handwarmer side pockets (zippered and at the right angle for putting your hand in a pocket), the fit, and the length. Drawstrings were the perfect length and did not interfere with movement. Update as 01/27/25 THIS COAT IS ALSO WATER RESISTANT. Just went to Niagara Falls, it’s was pouring raining and I remained cozy and warm. BEST COAT EVER! It’s extremely hard to find a good coat as a plus size, and when we decided to move to western NY I was in desperate need of a new coat, mine old one was crying for help. I am 5’7” with 320 lbs, and this coat fitted me just right on size 26. They don’t have a bigger size or I would have gone bigger just for extra comfort. I can definitely wear a sweater underneath, it has enough space. The faux fur inside is extremely soft and cozy! My favorite part is the hood that falls perfectly around your face. All the zippers and buttons are METAL I wasn’t expecting this quality for the price. I wish more colors were available on my size but the black fabric is beautiful and looks very resistant as well. If you are just like me and like to ditch your purse to run errands during winter, this coat got your back with lots of pockets! The armpits are a little snug but I have wide arms so it’s a problem I have with almost every coat I bought, just sharing in case you have the same problem. Doesn’t bother me but it might really bother you. Lenght is very flattering and waist adjustment helps me feel like a more proportional cozy potato, differently than other coats that makes me feel like I am wearing a puffy potato sack. Very warm and so far resistant fabric, don’t know about being water repellent yet, will come back here as I wear it to update my review. ... show more

Great jacket: Pros: - Thick - Heavy - Well insulated - Most of the coat is durable Cons: - Buttons fall out abruptly within less than 3 months even if they arent pulled on or snag anything - If you wash the jacket even once, the zip comes apart so the only way to use it is if you never wash it or replace the entire zipper line & sewing a new one on - Over priced for the zipper being such a huge oversight given the fact that without the zipper you aren't closing the jacket.
