First, let me say the packaging for this and the matching tables is stellar. Well-organized so you don't have a mess of styrofoam and other materials. The parts are quality steel, also meticulously organized. The instructions are clear and direct, no missing words, very easy to understand with diagrams. The chairs come in several pieces, and it took about 2 hours to do 4 chairs - about 30 minutes per chair - (10-15 minutes for the two tables purchased). The only tip I can offer is you might need a second pair of hands, and inserting some of the bolts and washers on both sides first, leaving them loose, makes it easier to assemble. Hold both alan wrenches at the same time, one stationary, to tighten. Use a power tool for the big screws if you want more torque and faster assembly than a screwdriver, but it can be done with a screwdriver. That's it. What a great product! Though Acacia wood is very durable, we purchased a sealant cream for waterproofing because South Texas is a swamp. We look forward to at least 10 years labor free enjoyment. We also purchased the Christopher Knight Adirondack Chair cushions to go with, though we are disappointed in the "water resistant" material, it's easy enough to put them up before a rain. One of the best features is how sturdy they are, despite being folding. Most adirondack chairs I looked at on Amazon have a weight limit of 250lbs. Not these! We have family that need a higher weight limit and these are comfy and aturdy to sit in at 300lbs+. The secondary cup holder is also a bonus that you can leave on or off, but it has a bottom instead of just a hole, so I recommend putting it on. My large Yeti Rambler fits fine in the armrest with the bottomless hole. The Yeti water bottle fits in the discreet one with the bottom that slides under the seat when not in use. The dark grey stain looks slightly distresssed since it's a stain and not a paint or varnished finish. The finish is matte. A great purchase! ... show more

Just short of 2 hours to assemble each chair. Instructions very clear. Bolts and attachments are high quality and look like they're designed to withstand weight and the elements. The chair looks great. In case you were wondering, it is not adjustable but will fold. One minor note: The screw that holds the back of each arm is long and the pre-drilled hole tight. I nearly stripped the hex head. I advise using a proper hex wrench for this, not the small one they provide (which is plenty good enough for the rest of them. I was so positive about this product. But we are not even one month into ownership, and the chairs are already breaking. One of the chairs are splitting in the armrests. Product support links on Amazon does not work, so yeah tough luck I guess. I will leave my initial comment, but at the same time I’m so disappointed with this product. Excellent quality for the price. When you first open the package you realize that this is a good product. Everything is neatly packaged and protected. The comfort of the chairs are excellent and they seem straight and sturdy. 10/10 would buy again. Looking forward to see how they hold up, but hopefully we will have good chairs for years to come. ... show more

We ordered a pair of these. They had good reviews for one, they looked cool and they would support up to 400lbs. I myself am not that Big of dude (well kinda) but I do tip the scales at around 250ish. Shipping was around a week and half. They came packaged really well in separate boxes. The first chair came together in about 30 minutes using using minimal tools, the second chair came together in about 20 minutes after seeing the ins and outs of the first build. Instructions were pretty good with just a lil interpretation. After almost a couple of weeks the lower rail cracked and snapped on of course my chair, the other side was still fine. I set about trying to figure why it failed, was it an errant cone like shockwave from my boney butt? I think not. The break appears to have originated at the cup holder area that is cut out on the bottom of rail and extends upwards to where one of the seat slats is screwed into the top of the rail. Upon closer inspection these were probably the instigator for starting the crack and this particular piece of had a really weird grain structure that almost appeared crumbly at first like a pressed type of wood. Essentially a bunk piece of Acacia. So I went to look up warranty info on whom to contact? Using the Amazon link to connect with the manufacturer took me nowhere. But the phone number contact did work. I got a recording and then a then a hang up as I waited.. Flustered I called again and noted the message saying I could get service by contacting "Noble House Furniture" which is apparently who sells this particular line of chairs for Christopher Knight. Not sure on the relationship? I looked up Noble House Furniture in California on Google. It was here that I was able to finally start the claims process. I would probably have given this 3.5 to 4 stars if it had not been for the Outstanding Customer Service and follow up of Chariza and Tishanna. I explained the situation how it failed. They asked for info on the item, receipts from Amazon and verified the chair model along with sending pictures of the part that needed to be replaced. I reviewed what they sent and was advised they would follow up with a tracking number. It was in my in box the following morning. Although there were a few hiccups getting it all started the end result is what matters the most. Good customer service keeps your business thriving. Chariza and Tishanna both did this for Noble House Furniture. So 5 stars. My replacement part came within a weeks time and we are enjoying our nights watching the skies. Nice chairs. ... show more

    • Best chairs I've owned and outstanding customer service
I've owned a number of sets of Adirondack chairs over the years, and these are by far my favorite. They are sturdy, great-looking, and comfortable. They took some time to assemble, but I was able to do it by myself. I was glad for the second Allen wrench for some steps. I was so impressed with the care that was taken with the packing. Unfortunately, a crossbar snapped off despite their efforts. I contacted the website for help. I thought they would send me just the two affected pieces, but they replaced the whole chair! (I was able to use wood glue on the original chair and you'd never know it had broke.) I think they will last for quite a few years--and no painting needed! ... show more
