UPDATE — Stopped working after 2 weeks of intermittent use. Returned. Hoping they refund the shipping costs I paid as well as the cost of the purchase. Perfect little heater to warm our sun porch! It was a bit challenging to screw the legs in because of the tight space to reach into (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). A long magnetic phillips screwdriver would be best. This unit is ready to go out the shoot. It has a nice appearance. Reminds me of real wood fires in a fireplace. Comfy. I have it in a large family room and it heats up the room in less than 3 minutes and maintains the temperature per the setting selected. Controls are easy to use. You can set the thermostat and the unit turns itself on and off. No worries. Absolutely no issues. Have had it for some months and obviously it will perform for years. The stove is a little noisy. However the ‘flames’ work, if the heater fan is not on, I hear a slight creaking noise, and occasionally a loud pop. The fan noise, which is to be expected, drowns out the noise from the flames when the heater part is running. In spite of this, the ‘flames’ look really nice, and have a dimensional feel. Face it, the reason for buying a heater like this is because one wants the feel of a live fire but cannot have one. One day there will be holographic fireplaces with realistic snaps and pops to go with it, and maybe even a hint of the smell of smoke, but this little stove does nicely for what it is. I am not sure why the smaller unit does not have a remote control. Most of the time I don’t miss it, but it would be a nice addition. ... show more
