When this first arrived, I took it apart and thoroughly cleaned it. After some reflection, I removed and set aside the sharpener gadget from the top of the slicer... it seemed like just one more nook and/or cranny where food might lodge. And, yes, there are plenty of nooks and crannies. I just used this for the first time, slicing up a whole deli ham (Hempler's Black Forest 4lb). It did a good job, able to dial-in exactly the thickness (thinness, really) that I desired. The motor is strong, and it slices with authority. As for clean-up... like I said, there are plenty of little nooks and crannies for food to get lost in, so it's important to be VERY thorough and mindful when cleaning after use. Be sure to look behind the blade from the "other" side. All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase. It's nearly the equal of the Hobarts I used to run, back in my youth. Not quite, but near. If I change my mind with further use, I will so advise.

The price was right. Value for money: You can't buy a new 12" slicer for less. Works well: For home use, probably over-kill. Very large and heavy. You should have a designated location in mind. You won't be moving the 12" slicer around. Size: It's a big one, Baby. Ease of cleaning: If you've ever worked around professional equipment, then you won't be surprised that cleaning can be a little more involved. No big deal, especially if the Dept of Health is unlikely to stop by for inspection. Build quality: Appears to be well built Safety: Take it easy, if you are inexperienced you can injure yourself.

I must say, I was hesitant to purchase this slicer thru Amazon. Look. It's a gamble, how it is going to be delivered, what if I have questions or problems, is their customer service going to be responsive? I am so glad I purchased the slicer from Rovsun. It arrived perfectly. It's just what we needed -- we purchase deli meat in rolls, and going really thin on the slicer is a breeze. I had a couple of questions and they were answered in a day. You can't go wrong with a Rovsun product.
