Love the sturdiness of a soft sided carrier with heavy wire inserts to keep it upright. The handles are above reproach, beefy, corded and well attached. Floor platform is sturdy, the floor insert just comfy enough. My Cavapoo sleeps in it the minute the car gets above 40mph. Very sturdy inside tether. Only complaint is that the end zipper is one way - can't zip two zippers toward the top to let him stick his head out. He perhaps would try to escape head first, that must be the logic. I have fashioned a velcro tab on the corner of the top cover to bend the curved flap back when partially open, to allow for his head to peek out (top, which is not mesh, has the two way dual zippers - the top could be a little bit mesh see through for dogs who either don't like the top enclosed or owners who like to see down on their dog. We will see how the first airline trip goes, but for a car carrier, it hangs over the headrest to suspend hovering over the seat, very nicely for a 16 pound dog.

So I’ve been doing a ton of research before our first flight with our little girl. She weighs in at 22 lbs and stands around 12”, so just a smidge over the dimensions. What I’m finding is that all airlines have different requirements and that straight up sucks and most of them make you wait until the day of your flight to see if your dog passes the stand up in the bag and be able to turn around game. Our girl is fairly petite for a Frenchie in comparison to some of the beefy frenchies that are well over 22 lbs and this bag wouldn’t work for them, we barely just squeezed by the airline counter ladies with a thumbs up. Our worry was that we’d end up catching one of them who woke on the wrong side of the bed and turn us away, these policies are not customer friendly so we literally took our dog to the airport and asked directly, even though no direct answer could be given. Now, we booked a flight on American Airlines/first class seats (747)to give ourselves some extra room and our girl fit pretty comfortably ( pic of her peeking out), however we caught a connect flight that was an A320/first class and it was an older plane and she didn’t fit as well because the height of the seat was lower ( pic with her head out) but the crew was nice about us not shoving her under the seat, we did best we could. We heard American and Alaska airlines are pretty pet friendly and so far I can say American was good. We have an upcoming flight with southwest and Im not getting any good vibes because their dimensions are super specific and the counter folks showed us what one of their animal carriers looks like and there is no way she’d fit in it, she looked like a hot dog stuffed between a bun( lol). We now own three of these carriers. We bought the first to transport our 17 pound Morkie on a plane. What I like about these carriers, besides the fact that they’re very sturdy, is that the ends will compress a bit when you put them under a seat, and some of the other carriers do not. It didn’t cause a problem for our dog. He seemed very comfortable in the carrier, although he did not, of course, like being on a plane! We bought two more for our cats. I would highly recommend them. Very sturdy and great for under seat. They are airline compliant on United and I would imagine with other airlines as well.

I love this carrier for our dog! I purchased this after I ordered a different one in which she seemed to be cramped up. The Roverlund carrier gives her enough space to turn and lay down comfortably. Our dog is a Shiba and 17lbs. We ordered the large one which fit perfectly under the seat when we flew with Delta. We had two flights with Delta Airlines. We couldn’t get to fit it fully under the seat on our first domestic flight but on the seccond one going overseas it worked just fine. I’m so happy that I got this carrier! It’s well made, sturdy and breathable. The only downside for me is that is doesn’t have wheels. I had to improvise by using the wheels from another carrier which is smaller than the Roverlund travel carrier but it still worked out. I just wanted to have my hands free and not having to carry her the whole time during our long trip. Anywho, we still use this carrier for car rides! Knowing she is save and comfortable during car trips makes us feel at ease.

We flew from the east coast to LA on United with no problem. The check in agents barely noticed the bags but we were close to the weight limit. Would recommend removing the shoulder strap/leash at the counter if you are going to be close. The dogs (shih tzu’s) were very comfortable and the bag is clearly very well made. Also, removing the end panel in the zip pocket made a huge difference when pushing the bag under the seat. Unfortunately, for our Hawaiian airlines flight from LAX to Honolulu they would not allow the medium size of this bag to be used in cabin. As I was nervous and heard horror stories, I had brought a set medium and large Amazon Basics carriers in our carry on luggage and they accepted the Large of those two which is significantly smaller than the medium of this bag. In all I would prefer to use this bag where it is allowed and the dogs preferred the Roverlund over the others.

We put one of dad’s shirts in for comfort and did about 2 weeks training prior to mass transit and plane trips (including meals in carrier). It’s super sturdy and the bottom has just enough rigidity to help my girl feel secure. That said, It is a lot heavier than the “other carrier”. The straps are a bit overkill for the purpose, but they’re not going to fall apart. I love love love the interior clip leash - such a great idea. So far, so good. We like it! We breezed through LGA with zero hassle. My poodle is 13lbs and although a bit taller than recommended she’s very comfortable in this carrier.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased several bags as an airline carrier for an American Airlines domestic flight for my french bulldog. she literally hates every single one of them except this one. it’s the same dimensions as most approved carriers, but the quality of this one compared to the others is unmatched. don’t do what I did and go cheap, just move forward with the purchase of this item!
