Even a slight breeze whips the taller than expected flame about quite a bit. I used rubbing alcohol for the fuel and that left soot in the fuel container so that would not be good for indoor use. May be better with the suggested fuel but I suspect you really should use it outside regardless. But it is pretty clean burning, just not perfect. This is for atmosphere and smores, not to warm your hands unless you want everything burnt.
