I purchased the nerf step bars, rcg1583cc, from amazon for a chevy colorado last week. They arrived today. The packaging was perfect, but the driver side bar had 3 scratches that had been painted over. You can see the different textures and the scratch under the touch up paint. These should have been sold as blems. The same side has a bent bracket. Neither are end of the world, so i installed the bars. That is some bo dunk garbage. Pretty bad quality control. I want to buy your lift kit, but now i have to question Rough Country business practices. If i were a show truck guy, i would have sent them back. I will not be able to refer rough Country products in the future. Otherwise, easy to install (except for the bent bracket) and sturdy. ... show more

The product was awesome. Super easy to install, use a buddy to help. Looks great. The reason for a four star review is I had a question concerning the bars. Sent e mail to Rough Country and never heard back.

I bought these in February of 2016 (about 6 months ago) and wanted to give some time before I reviewed it. These feel very high quality and mount to the truck with no drilling. Very easy to install with basic tools. These steps cater to those are who looking for a nice offroad looking set of step bars that mount high and tight. The positioning of the step has been hard to get used to. I tend to just slide over the bar and miss the step entirely. Your experience may be different though. I'm only 5' 5".     • Great Bars Poor Quality Control and Customer Service
I really like this product it would’ve been better if there was 4 brackets otherwise solid. wish that they had better quality control and customer service and that’s where my review goes negative. I left the nerf bars wrapped in the bubble wrap and just exposed the brackets. I took 2 jack stands lifted the nerf bars where I could bolt them up to the clips. Then after I got everything tight I removed the bubble wrap. The bars were really scratched up and it was not from me. I messaged amazon right away. They said a new set would get sent to me to swap out the nerf bars. I asked the new set gets inspected prior to shipping just to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Knowing a new set was coming I disposed of the box. A few days later rough country says I must send the old set back. I am refusing because I don’t have the box and I’m not going to remove the clips and reinstall them again over logistics and something that isn’t my fault. Very well made step bars. Fit perfectly and look great! One suggestion would be to use higher quality mounting hardware. I'm afraid that the included zinc-plated bolts will corrode quicker over time (as compared to the OEM mounting hardware).

This was super easy to install. Only took a couple of tools to complete. I was able to do this in under and hour by myself taking my time. See before and after pics.

    • Attractive and sturdy steps!
They look great on my truck, provide a much needed step for shorter passengers and feel quite sturdy. Additionally, they provide some protection against door-dings. I was able to install in about 30 minutes. The only downside is that the directions didn't include torque specifications.
