It's a rOtring mechanical pencil; one really doesn't need to know more than that. I've owned (and lost or given away) a handful of these, and I've never been disappointed. Excellent mechanical pencils.

    • Simply The Best, but Needs Care
The rOtring 600 has been my favorite mechanical pencil for over a decade, and this version appears to have tighter quality control than all of the previous 600-series pencils I've owned. The red is a deep hue and the anodization is perfectly smooth--I was worried I wouldn't like it but I'm in love. Only criticism is they could have changed the color of the text (it's red on red). The mechanics of the pencil seem tighter than the standard 600 models. The lead step is consistent and where before I had to step it twice to retrieve a usable amount of lead, I now only need one step. Still, as with all of the 600-series pencils, care must be given to avoid damaging the tip of the pencil. I strongly recommend some kind of cup or case to return the pencil to whenever it's not in use--leaving it out is asking for it to fall, possibly rendering it useless. ... show more

Absurdly beautiful, the red matte finish is to die for. All tight and precise, no complaints whatsoever. I'd search for more if you don't like a bit of heaviness, I love, so for me this mechanical pencil is impeccable. (By the way, don't drop it, please).

I absolutely love this brand of mechanical pencil!!! When I pick up this perfectly weighted smooth metal brand pencil, I hate having to put it down. Always looking for reasons to use it. The ergonomic fit to my hand keeps me thinking of reasons to use it. Feels so good to the touch and the hold. I have several of the Otring brand metal pencil and pens.
