I love the tone since it helps cut through the mix of what my band plays without losing the low-end or sneaking into their tone range. I also don't mind that they don't have silk wound ends, the wound ends are purely aesthetic, I personally feel. What I do mind is that apparently my fingers are just moist enough that the strings are oxidizing during play. I knew going in that nickel can do that, but I was hoping these wouldn't. We'll see how long they keep the brights, and hopefully I'll remember to update this to keep y'all informed. The strings arrived quickly. This is my first experience with unsilked strings but I have ussed Rotosounds for decades. I have only had them on my bass for a couple of weeks. I play professionally and they seem to be holding up well. They are twangy and bright, which is why I use Rotosounds. At the oprice I paid these may be my strings of the future. ... show more
