  • My Go-To Strings
Good quality electric bass strings. They work great on my Yamaha bass. Good sound. Long lasting. Easy to play.

  • The best sounding bass strings on the market.
I have used Rotosound RN-66 bass strings for over 40 years and no other strings on the market come close to the brightness and full sound of Rotosound nickel bass strings. The tone and fatness of the nickel blows stainless steel away every time. Listen to the recordings. Your ears don't lie!! Thanks to Rotosound for never changing a thing with the RN-66 bass strings. All I need is my '69 Jazz Bass and a few sets of RN-66's to conquer any track on any record. I highly recommend that all bassists try these strings and not just one set. Buy 6 sets and let your fingertips get used to the way the nickel feels. It feels much different than stainless steel does and provides a warmer, fatter sound while being softer in the fingertips. If you've never tried Rotosound RN-66 spend $25 and give them a run. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the sound, feel and quality. ... show more

  • My Favorite!
By far my favorite strings. Bright & warm, comfortable, flexible, durable, even output across all strings. I really enjoy playing bass with these strings.

  • My favorite round wound string for a Jazz Bass
I tried the RS66LD upon reading reviews that Geddy Lee uses them. They had the sound I was looking for, but the stainless steel construction was a little too harsh for me. I then found the RN66LD which is the nickel coated version. I love them. The sound is not quite as bright as the stainless version, but still gets that classic growl you want from a Jazz Bass. I use the standard 45-105 gauge, and the tension is just right. They are extremely versatile and sound great finger style, slapping, or with a pick. The only downside to these strings is that they start sounding a little muddy after a few weeks of use. I don't quite get a month out of them before I want to replace them with a fresh set. However at $20 for a a set of four, I can live with that. ... show more

  • Still the best.
My favorite round wounds for years, still are. They last a long time and aren't overly bright like some others.

  • Absolutely the Beat
These are the absolute best strings you can buy. I have been playing these exclusively since 1984 and love the sound and durability these string provide. Best quality for the money!!

  • Best bass strings on the market!
I've been playing bass for well over 20 years and I have been through string set after string set until I finally settled on the GHS Boomers. I used those for about 8 years until I read about certain bass players that inspired me to play bass using the Rotosound strings. So I bought the Swing Bass 66 set and I was immediately hooked! The brightness of the strings are like anything else you've ever heard and slapping bass takes on a whole new meaning! I strongly recommend any bass player looking to improve their sound to start with these before you get yourselves into debt by buying a lot of useless electronics! Warning! Rotosound makes two different versions of the Swing Bass 66 strings... only buy the black and orange box like the one pictured because the difference in the sound between the two is ridiculously different! ... show more
