These are just like the regular pencil from the store. I love how these all came pre-sharpened and ready to use. Each pencil is sharpened as sharp can be, and no dull points. I originally ordered these for my 1st grader and the teacher was happy that I now send him to school with sharpened pencils already. It creates less conflict in the classroom because he doesn't need to fuss around with sharpening a new pencil. The writing quality of the graphite is great too. I can't tell the difference between these pencils or other ones you'd buy from the store. What's even better as these are in bulk for a fraction of the price you would pay for at the store. These pencils work just as any pencil should. We have found no issues with the writing, sturdiness or erasers. The big perk with these of course is they come pre-sharpened which is HUGE especially if you are gifting to teachers or are a teacher yourself. I ordered these for our math teacher as her classroom had already run out of "community pencils". She was so excited and appreciative. Quality-they're pretty solid in the area of quality. Granted, they aren't the fancy brand of pencils that are super smooth, but they aren't bad, either. I pulled one out before sending them in, and was impressed with how well it wrote. I'm a bit of a pencil and pen snob, and I'd use these all day long. I didn't notice a flexibility issue when writing (as noted in other reviews). As far as the bang for the buck, you can't go wrong.
