I bought one of these 10 yrs ago and never had a problem with it but it’s getting old and the trays are starting to crack. Comes with fruit trays and mesh trays. I can still use it but ordered a new one . Never tried it on beef jerky,but it would probably be just fine. Overall it’s a good product I think.

I bought this to convert to a filament dryer for 3D printing filament. Unfortunately my wife was also thinking of getting a food dehydrator for the kitchen, and when this one arrived she asked to "try it out" and see if she liked it before buying her own. I haven't seen it since. Well, except maybe once in a while I see it on the counter where it is drying mushrooms or some other such thing. I guess she likes it. I bought this one because it was one of the cheapest on Amazon and I didn't need anything fancy for filament drying. She was originally thinking of getting something a little fancier, but has decided this this one works fine for her needs so I guess I'm not getting it back. I know in the beginning she was disappointed that it didn't have any kind of timer, but has since learned just to plan ahead so that it is "done" at convenient times. I think she has also said that it works best to periodically rotate (up and down) the trays for more even drying. So, I have no idea how well it might work for filament drying. I guess I'll have to buy another one if I want to find out. But if you're looking for a lost cost food dehydrator, this one has been "wife approved".

This is super quiet, it is small enough to store easily and has a very consistent heat. When I tested drying fruit chips it proformed much better than the one I had to replace

I bought this to dry fruits and herbs for making teas, and it does a great job! I played around with the temperatures and times, with each item. The suggested temps and times in the booklet are a good place to start, but if you have time to check on it every hour or so, things can dry a bit faster. Strawberries and peaches took the longest amount of time, but well worth it! I also dried mint leaves, lavender, and lemon balm leaves. I'd suggest only drying on thing at a time, or the flavors tend to mix. And cleaning fruit bits and juice off the trays isn't super easy, but soaking them in warm water helps a lot. Easy to assemble and store. 5/5 would recommend!!

Made the mistake of beginning to cut out the support structures without safety glasses on. Piece of plastic hit my cheek, RIGHT UNDER my eye, and then I immediately dropped what I was doing to put them on. That's nobody's fault but my own, this product does everything I bought it to do, and very well! Have it set to 113F now, and since taking the photo, it has gone from 111 to 114/115 but that's certainly within reasonable error of my temp sensor, before going back down to 111. Seems to be bouncing between those points pretty reliably, which is perfect for drying out PLA.

Frankly, it does dehydrate stuff, but it definitely runs cool and takes at least twice as long as usual recipes (at the same temp) call for. Many times, it takes four times as long. I typically only use one to two trays at a time because of this. If you can afford it, go with a better quality brand. The quality definitely needs work, but you get what you pay for. I will say, though, that it does still run after ten years, so that's something. I usually use it about twice a year for about 24 hours each (because it takes so long). It's run cool since I got it. Trays are really shallow, so it's not suitable for drying anything taller than maybe an inch. I tried to do a full rose from my mother's funeral and it got crushed. The trays are typically really easy to clean. The material has turned yellowy/orangy over time, but I think that's more from my products (mainly red peppers and tomatoes), not the product itself. The noise is tolerable; no more than your standard dehumidifier, but it's not quiet by any means.

I bought item this to dry PLA filament. It held temperature within 2 degrees. It worked well. I had to modify two of the 4 trays so that a spool of filament would fit inside. This was easily done with diagonal cutters and took about 15 minutes.
