I chose the RoofPax unit because it checked the boxes of: variable power options, flexibility of purpose, convenience, size and weight, combined lengths of 12V DC power cord and air hose, reviews, and price. I have used it regularly over the past nine months to inflate van and car tires. I have been pleasantly surprised by the time it takes to inflate the tires (sometimes quicker than some of the air pumps at service stations); I have used the 12V DC power exclusively (up until recently). The pressure measured/displayed by the unit has been accurate (when compared to a standard pressure gauge; your mileage may vary), and the auto shut-off has worked perfectly. The included case is nice, but minimal, and the carry handle on the unit is a plus. Good instruction manual, and very prompt service! About two weeks ago, I discovered that a crack had developed in the cap that holds the fuse and tension spring in the 12V DC plug. When I pulled the plug out of its housing on the unit (nice storage for the 12V DC cord and plug, the 120V AC cord, and the air hose), the spring ejected the fuse, the cap, and itself out and off of the plug. (I found the cap and the fuse. The spring is vacationing somewhere in my yard!) I contacted RoofPax and requested a replacement cap and spring. They sent me a whole new unit! Another bonus: while waiting for the replacement, I tried using the battery to power the unit. Despite what I had read about the poor performance of other brands’ batteries, the RoofPax battery was fully charged after being idle for nine months (after its initial charge), it inflated the tires at the same speed as the 12V DC power, and it inflated three tires — each were ~10 PSI under-inflated — on its initial charge! I have not been disappointed!

Bought this in November of '21 as a precautionary measure and first used it a few days ago. Plugged it in to the garage outlet, but it would only work in the battery mode; and then only in short bursts. (I had to repeatedly turn it on and off to get it to function at all.) Digital readout didn't work as outlined in the instructions, which neglected to include how to charge the battery. Figured plugging it in to an outlet would do the trick. But after doing so for hours, the battery mode (w/o the unit being plugged in) was nonfunctional. The only reason I gave it a second star was that I did manage to finally get the tires to their proper inflation. I have reached out to the company. I'll update when (if?) I hear back from them. UPDATE: Within a day of contacting RoofPax, they responded with an apology, and, honoring their warranty, informed me they were sending me a replacement unit and a little something extra as a gesture of goodwill (!). From 2 stars to 5 stars.

It worked great at first, but sadly died on me after using a few times. I was unsure about the product at first, but it checked all the boxes, so I gave it a try. Especially the fact that it had a warranty was appealing. I think this is okay for small things, but definitely not great for heavy duty trucks and RV's that require higher PSI. I needed something I can rely on that when I'm on the road that I can inflate my tires without having to find a special place to inflate my tires. I get it that products fail sometimes, but when I contacted customer support about my issue, they told me they would send me a new one, but never did. I reached out a couple times to them and just have not received any emails back. Don't waste your time with it if you are using for an RV or heavy duty truck. Okay for cars I suppose although it smells like it is burning and struggles to pump air up. Potential fire hazard as well.

I purchased this tire inflator/air compressor as a graduate school graduation gift for my son. The unit has been working well until the cigarette lighter power cord stopped working and he could not use the inflator to deflate/inflate his tires when driving on the beach. I contacted RoofPax and almost immediately received a response from Jade, apologizing for the malfunction and informing me that the company is sending out a replacement unit. Not even three days later, a brand new tire inflator was delivered. When initially shopping on Amazon for his gift, one of the reasons I chose RoofPax is because there were comments about the excellent customer service. That is absolutely true. So many times something goes wrong with a purchase and the follow up with a company or seller is non existent. Not true with RoofPax. Not only is their product a good one (anything can happen to any item), but the customer service is superlative. I would not hesitate in the least to recommend choosing a RoofPax item over others when shopping for an inflator or any other items they carry. I wasn't asked by the company to write this review and was not part of any promotion, I just think when a company stands so solidly behind their products that others should know and benefit!
