Features

  • FITS ANY SIZE CAR, small, medium or large, with or without sunroof or moonroof.
  • MOST SECURE DESIGN: Your belongings are safe at any highway speed with the roof top car cargo carrier boasting the strongest nylon straps: 1.5 wide, 3,000 lbs strong. RoofBags exclusive pass-through straps have been safety-tested for 18 years. They dont interfere with side curtains since they enter at corner of door frame. Door hooks or clips are not safe for most cars in the US: they dont have the required lip under door gasket. However, if you car has lip, buy door hooks from RoofBag store
  • TRULY WATERPROOF: RoofBag keeps your valued contents dry, offering the benefits of a rigid roof top car cargo carrier and the practicality of a roof cargo bag. Peace-of-mind waterproofness is achieved by making the RoofBag car roof bag from a single piece of waterproof material with no exposed stitching. A double flap protects the zipper and stays in place without the need for velcro. Straps are water-repellent. For ultimate water-tightness, zipper has no gap. Tip: install with logo to the rear
  • HEAVY-DUTY: Not only is the RoofBag car topper luggage carrier waterproof, but it is also extremely sturdy. 18 years of improvements led to a roof bag cargo carrier made to last: military-grade fabric that will not peel or tear, is resistant to cold, heat, and UV, and best of all, is free of harmful chemicals, so that you can safely use it for baby clothes. Customer satisfaction is ensured by experienced US staff and by a 2-year warranty. Tip: fill bag completely to avoid wind-flapping damage
  • QUIET, FUEL EFFICIENT, EASY TO INSTALL: Our car rooftop car carrier is lower at the front, higher at the back for best fuel economy and a quiet ride. Built with heavy fabric to reduce noise, RoofBag was engineered to maximize storage space and fuel economy. 2 sizes available: 13 and 17 cu ft. (Larger bags than 17 cu ft are not recommended: they are unstable and noisy and greatly increase gas use). Tip: fill bag completely to keep aerodynamic shape - Leave 8 clear roof space in front of bag

  • So impressed!!
Size: Size 17
My fiancé and I drove from Colorado to South Florida over the span of 5 days. She had the roof bag on her car with our dog and cat in her car as well. It held up amazingly!!! I have a few tips though. This may seem like common sense, but there's a lot to think about when moving across country. The mat that you put underneath the roof bag needs to be exactly underneath it. Ours was, but then it must have shifted while driving and was very loud flapping around in the wind. We ended up cutting the corner off that was sticking out and duct taping the remaining parts to the car and this fixed the noise problem. The straps were a bit loud to start off, but when some tightening and adjusting their position on the windows, it was manageable. She drove about 70-80mph the whole way, not exceeding 85 at any point. Going 80 mph was less comfortable for her as it made a lot of noise at that speed. The entire way east through Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois was VERY windy. Our cars were being jerked around by the wind with big gusts following us all that way, but the roof bag did not budge. It did sprinkle and rain overnight on occasion and no water got into the roof bag. One BIG mistake was made at the end of the trip...putting the roof bag in the car after use. We had read a previous review that mentioned putting the bag in the car at night for safety. #1 you would really have to be strong or have extremely light items to do this every single night. We had a lock on the zippers and parked in what looked like the safest spots at every stop for the night and did not have any problems, thankfully. She put the roof bag in the car after unloading it without thinking anything of it and the next day found a TON of baby spiders alllllll in the car. Had to use bug killer to get rid of them. This roof bag was gross, absolutely covered in bugs. You would assume they would all be dead, but unless you want to deal with a bug infestation in your car, I would NOT let this bag get into your car after using it. One more note, the Subaru Impreza typically gets really great gas mileage but on the 1st/2nd day, she got about half of the gas mileage that she normally does. The wind through those areas definitely played a factor, but it is not the most aerodynamic. Overall this $80 roof bag was so so worth it, helped us bring essential items with us to our new place across country. I would 100% recommend this to anyone. Very very impressed with this bag!! ... show more

  • Worked great on over 2,700-mile road trip!
Size: Size 17 Large
Bottom line: I highly recommend this roof bag. It gave us a simple solution for our major move this summer and worked well in all sorts of conditions. Our situation: We relocated this summer and had to find a way to transport 7 large suitcases/duffel bags, 3 carry-on suitcases, 3 backpacks, and other odds and ends in our 2015 Honda CR-V, along with 3 people. Our CR-V doesn't have a roof rack or a hitch. I searched online, found this roof bag with good reviews, and decided to try the large version (size 17). I actually bought two, but didn't end up needing the second one for our other vehicle. Unboxing: All the materials and zippers appeared to be strong and gave the impression they should last a while (and they have). The box included clear instructions on how to and how not to install the bag, along with a note from customer service to contact them for help if needed. It also included all of the straps we needed, a protective mat for the roof, and 3 large, lightweight duffle bags. Those bags aren't essential, but they have been helpful for organizing various items. Note that they don't come with every order. Our experience: At first I thought I should have ordered a smaller bag, but as soon as I started putting suitcases inside, I was really glad I got the large. It was the perfect size for our CR-V. We drove over 2,700 miles this summer and the bag experienced all sorts of weather, including blistering sun with 100+ degree temps, multiple storms (some with rain so hard we could barely see), and a steady state of battering wind from driving thousands of miles at highway speed. Not once did we find any leaks, tears, or other damage to the bag. Things to keep in mind: 1) Obviously with any removable roof bag, you have to find ways to secure it when you are at hotels, rest stops, etc. This isn't a major negative, it's just something to be aware of when you don't have a permanently attached, hard plastic, lockable roof case. Some people left their soft roof bags on top of their cars at hotels at night, and we did too sometimes. Most of the time we took our suitcases down and put the bag in the car. My teenage son and I found it to be a fairly quick and simple process to uninstall and reinstall the roof bag. We also put a small padlock on the zippers whenever the bag was installed. I know, anyone could come by with a knife and slice open the bag, but at least we made it a little harder to steal things. 2) Our gas mileage went down a little, but the instructions tell you how to minimize that. 3) Sometimes the roof mat or straps can flap in the wind and make noise, but those are easy things to fix by following the instructions or just pulling over and securing anything that was loose. We saw other roof bags on cars this summer, and some definitely did not look as strong as others. I was always grateful for the one we had. ... show more

  • Extra room for bags and was easy to use
Size: Size 13
We purchased this cargo carrier to travel from Pittsburgh PA to Pigeon Forge TN and didn't have roof rails to strap a carrier, we needed to strap down though the car doors, and this system worked great. There weren't any instructions(something would have been nice to have) in the box on how to work the straps and attach the carrier but we were able to figure it out. We did a dry run loading the bag on our living room floor before we attempted the load on the roof so we knew what went where before it was harder to reach on the roof. On the way to our destination we had filled the bag as full as we could get it. We had no issues, there is a little bit of a sound issue because the straps come into the car door and impact the door seal. On the way home it rained and again we had no issues with the items in the bag getting wet. We did have a little drip where the straps came into the door but that is understandable because you're impacting the seal of the door. As for the extra drag on the car, we used it on a rental car so I'm not sure what our gas mileage would have been without the carrier, but I didn't notice it being horribly expensive in the gas usage. We will use this cargo carrier again, it gave us the extra room we needed for our travels and was easy to use. ... show more
