I was amazed with the quality of the TV and it not being super heavy. Made it easy to install. The picture is really good and has good blacks and colors and brightness. It is a smart tv and hooked up immediately to the internet with no issues. It starts up quick when turning on and shuts down quickly. We haven't experienced any glitches or issues at all. I'm so thankful for the whole "buy a new TV" process.....I was scared to death about getting a new TV but this ROKU TV has been just as good as my older Samsung that ROKU replaced. The price difference was a blessing as it saved several hundreds of dollars from 2014 Samsung Black Friday purchase. When I started to look for a new TV ROKU was sold out and I was not supposed to be able to get one until mid February .... BUT ..... it came well before that. I could handle setting it up (because of my wonderful GrandSon) .... but it was easy enuf to do by myself! One thing I like a lot is that this TV does turn itself off after an extended time - not sure if that can be changed. And, one thing I think is a bit negative is the sound is much lower than previous TV - not sure if that can be changed? But, I can turn it up and I'm looking forward to getting an outside speaker possibly. The beautiful picture is awesome and I'm thankful for all of the programming I have available. Today's TV is amazing because I can remember the first RCA TV my childhood home had. One of my family's life memories is my dad turning on the "box" and when the TV came on I ran up my Dad's leg screaming & pointing "Pic Pic, Daddy. Pic Pic!" ....... hours in front of that TV box watching Howdy Doody and Buffalo Bob got me thru my early years. Yes, the TV box practically raised me. I loved it then & even more now because of the big wide screen, the beautiful colors, and variety of programming. ROKU is awesome. PLUS....the big pieces of carboard that I cut from the packing box have served as window covers for me during this recent terrible below 0* weather. I tuck them into my window frames at night and remove them when the sun comes out in the morning. I can tell a big difference in warmth in my LR ..... "Who knew?" ... show more

Very impressed so far. Set up was a breeze--just took my laptop into the room and used it to sign into my Roku account then activated the TV. Despite what I read, the audio is very good for built-in speakers and would easily suffice if you didn't want a soundbar/external audio source. Works seamlessly with a Bluray player. Amazon Prime plays flawlessly. The picture is excellent. Almost wish I'd bought the next size up, but I'm going to have to get used to this 55" before doing that. And the price can't be beat--I paid $249.99 but I see it's gone up slightly. I'd put this up against any $1,000 TV out there. EDIT: If you're planning on using bluetooth, forget it. Even though the "Compare With Similar Items" shows the TV has bluetooth, it does not. ... show more

We bought this TV after much debate and reading reviews on several different products. We never had a smart TV before and were worried about connectivity, visuals, and ads. Connectivity: it connected to our wifi no problem! It says you can screen share, but don't get too hyped up for that feature. Screen sharing apparently is a known issue with roku and other smart tvs and is a hit or miss if they work. I have disney+, hulu, amazon, and you tube we use regularly with hbo connected to my Amazon. All work great once you sign in. I highly reccomend using the "sign in through other device" option. It is way faster as typing is slow as with any TV. We have yet to get the "screen share" option to work, and yes we tried looking it up. It is an EXTREMELY well known problem that roku can't fix I checked newer models and they are the same. Hit or miss on working. It isn't a deal breaker for us, just a bonus if it worked. My boyfriend figured out how to do the YouTube sign in. Something about signing in via computer or phone and you control it that way. A little like the sign in of the other movie apps, but with extra steps. We have hooked up our Switch to it and it works fine. The free "cable" is a nice bonus. Wich leads me to ads. Ads: We pay for no ads on all our streaming services. The ONLY time we noticed any is on the screen saver, and when you are watching the free ROKU channels/cable they provide with the TV. They are subtle on some of the screen savers we have seen and can be cute how they put it in. In regards to the actual ads in the free "cable". It is same amount you would get if you actually watched cable. No more, no less. We have yet to explore all the options in the free roku tv section. They have a wide variety of shows available on it. If you can't afford subscriptions and still need a TV. I reccomend this feature. It is free and all you need to do is sign into a roku account (free). It does have a "premium" option, but I don't pay for it. Visuals: It looks great! It says you can somehow stream games onto it, but that is a later thing for us. It looks great on my TV shows, sounds awsome too! We keep it at 25-30 volume because it gets LOUD. We have it in our living room, but will definitely get another for our other rooms! Looks fantastic! We bought a tilting TV mount to use and it works great with this. I would advise to get something similar as it will let you angle the TV so everyone in the room can see, regardless where they are. Overall BEST purchase I made on amazon to date and Love this. I will update if it ever breaks. Also we bought our 65" for about $400-450 with tax. I definitely think it is a cheap price and definitely worth it. ... show more

When I saw this 50" 4k TV on sale for only $200, I figured it was cheap enough for me to upgrade to 4k. While I've only had this TV for a few hours, I've already got it setup, and I am streaming movies from multiple services. And while many of those streaming services max out at 1080p (making a 4k screen overkill), I can confirm that the video looks good to my eyes. And after hooking this TV up to an old stereo I have, the sound from this TV was good as well. As an added bonus, this TV has the jack for wired internet, so I now have this TV connected via a faster wired cable (vs the slower and less reliable WiFi option many TVs force on you). Followup/edit: After my old stereo temporally died, I discovered that this TV's builtin sound was better than I was expecting. Granted most TVs on the market (this one included) have worse builtin sound than you can get out of a decent stereo, but the builtin sound of this TV was still better than the builtin sound of every other TV I've ever owned. And now that I've got the stereo working again I'm back to "home theater" level sound for my TV. As an added bonus, I bought (for around $35) an HDMI to stereo sound adapter, which allows me to hook the TV to the stereo via the more reliable (and better sound quality) eARC jack on the TV (I had previously hooked the stereo up via the TV's headphone jack). And if/when my stereo finally dies completely, I can continue to get good sound by simply buying a new stereo amplifier for the external speakers I use with my TV. ... show more

It works great but this tv doesn't support bluetooth. It is too small so you will need to use the roku app. The picture is amazing! So colorful. The sound is alright so I would recommend the app to listen in your own headphones or get a soundbar. Also, my tv came with a remote with the headphone jack. I can't seem to find these for sale anymore as they were discontinued (Roku please bring these back!!! I dom't want another app on my phone.) I will say, be aware the legs are very far apart compared to my last tv. I believe that's just how Roku TVs are. Also, this tv has a glitch where you cannot pair your phone with your tv (unless you are using the Roku app) via screen sharing, I read on the Roku website somewhere it is a known issue that this is a glitch in the hardware that has yet to be fixed as of this model. Newer models may have fixed this. Overall, though, it's a good tv for the price! ... show more
