*Read all the way through...several updates. When the mics work, they have decent sound quality and are good for blocking wind noise. However, they're unreliable, and seem to not connect for no apparent reason. And it's not obvious that they haven't connected until you find out you have a silent video. Edit to add: only one side of the case charges. So I always have one dead mic. I have to remember to switch the two mics so they’ll both charge. This was what caused my connectivity issues before, since I failed to look for the blinking green LED indicating that I had the working mic. Edit to add: This Rode product comes with a 5-year warranty. I sent an email to Rode and explained what the problem was. I got an immediate response asking me to register the product (I should have done that when I first got it) and send a video to them showing the problem. I exchanged several emails over the next few hours, and got an RMA and an address to send it to for repair/replacement in California. Sent it off yesterday and they'll have it in 3 days. We shall see what happens next! Edit: I sent the item back to Røde and a week later, it was returned to me with a new charging case. Both microphones now charge the way they should! Works SO well! I use this when I’m recording for Instagram Stories or reels, and it just softens the overall sound and improves clarity. Even with the tv going in the background, my kids making noise, the dishwasher running, dogs wrestling, etc., all you hear is my voice! This is exactly what I needed. Recharging is simple, you just plug the entire case in like AirPods. I do that and then toss the whole case in my bag if I’m leaving the house. ... show more

I purchased this for social media video. There is one word that summaries this review. OUTSTANDING! Voice is crystal clear on all videos regardless of where I stand relative to my phone. I even use it on my iPad too if I use that for live broadcast. I didn't realize it until today, you have the clip option to attach the mics, but you also have a magnet option too. Rode known for quality audio, this is an amazing new set in simplicity and quality. Great sound, minimal setup, usb-c version plugs into anything (phone, desktop, laptop, iPad) even can connect with wireless directly to iPhone (bypass the receiver unit).
