ONE THING/ONE THING ONLY. It turns on when you turn the camera on. It turns off when you turn the camera off. NEVER will you forget to turn on the mic and takes AA's if you get into a jam. WELL THOUGHT OUT, lots of uses.

It's a good product, but I sent mine back because it's too complicated to use with the phone. You need too many adapters to make it work. If you're getting it to use with your DSLR camera it's great. Has a lower internal noise than some of the other mics that I've tried. Probably the biggest problem with the audio is that it picks up way too much low end which can make it sound comparatively less clear and crisp than some other mics. But honestly, that can be fixed in post and it really only matters if you're literally listening to side by side audio comparisons. ... show more

I have a Nikon D850 and there have been occasions where it would have been a great video camera when I needed a backup camcorder. I did extensive research, having previously used a smaller Nikon M-1 type (I believe). This came fully charged. I went on YouTube to see how this microphone should be configured with my camera, and I followed those recommendations and tested it out today. It sounded terrific. I appreciate that it can take AA batteries should the charge, which they rate at 100 hours, were to run out. I always keep extra AA around. I appreciated that it came with a Lithium battery. Reviews on YT are consistently good as they are on Amazon, and it is great when reviewers supply with before and after sound comparisons. Love that the microphone turns off when you turn the camera off. Since it has its own power source, using this mic will not run down your camera battery. ... show more

My sons are film majors in college and I bought this mic for them. They love it. So I bought one for myself to make short films. It's very good. It slides onto my Canon Mark 5D IV DSLR easily, it produces great sound. The 5D Mark 4 has issues with clicking when in autofocus tracking which I am trying to overcome. I was hoping this mic helps but it does not. It's a Canon issue for sure. Regardless this is an excellent mic and the one B&H recommended when I bought this the first time.
