    • Don't buy it to use with a phone
Pattern Name: Shotgun Microphone
It's a good product, but I sent mine back because it's too complicated to use with the phone. You need too many adapters to make it work. If you're getting it to use with your DSLR camera it's great. Has a lower internal noise than some of the other mics that I've tried. Probably the biggest problem with the audio is that it picks up way too much low end which can make it sound comparatively less clear and crisp than some other mics. But honestly, that can be fixed in post and it really only matters if you're literally listening to side by side audio comparisons. ... show more

    • Great sound, great pickup, easy mounting, long battery life
Pattern Name: Shotgun Microphone
Review Image by Kiwi
I use this for videoconferencing mounted above my monitor and out of the frame of my camera. Really great sound and I can comfortably be 8 inches from the microphone. It runs off battery for about 10 days or so and turns on only when my camera is on. I turn the camera off and the microphone turns off also which is great for that battery life. I can't run it off a USB brick like I thought I would be able to because it picks up some hum in the recorded audio somehow. So after 10 days or so it runs flat and people complain that they can't hear me. I tried running it off a USB power battery but the internal battery lasts long enough that I dont bother. Because the power light is around the back of it, I can't see it without poking my head around. Anyhow, when that happens, I change to another microphone and plug this one into a USB brick. ... show more
