  • Very happy with this purchase
Works very well with my ipad mini 6

  • Great for One-hand Recording
Welcome upgrade from previous version with its 3.5mm headphone jack plug-in. This is perfect if you only have USB-c input. The available Røde recording app is fine, albeit very basic. Fairly directional, but susceptible to wind noise - use the supplied dead-cat wind screen!

  • Doesn't Work on iPad
The mico didn't work with my iPad for Livestreaming. The volume was very low. Did what techs from Rode suggested and it still didn't work.

  • Overpriced junk, HORRIBLE for live music
I wish I could return it but it's too late. Missed the return window by 5 days. HORRIBLE for live music (constant clipping and distortion), falls off easy and overpriced.

Cannot fit to phone even after switching to thinnest case. Can't really use it.

  • Well Built... but expect modest NOT miracle improvement
The Rode VdieoMic Me-C (USB-c) microphone is a very well-built microphone. You will get a modest improvement in audio quality. There is a definite sound improvement. But I would be lying if I said I immediately heard a difference. I suspect the Rode Me-C sound recording improvement will be much more noticeable in difficult recording conditions such as windy conditions or big rooms that produce lots of echo. The nominal improvement of sound recording quality is due in part to the great microphones in the Pixel 6 Pro. If the built-in mic on your phone is terrible, you will likely see a significant improvement. The Pixel 6 Pro built-in mics sound about "20%" more hollow with an echo compared to the Rode Me-C mic. Your voice will sound fuller and richer with the Rode mic, but only slightly more. This is something your listeners with headphones will appreciate, but not out loud through speakers. My Mobile Devices - Google Pixel 6 Pro phone - iPad Pro 12.9 Considerations for Pixel 6 Pro - You will not be able to use this mic with a case. - Me-C has two short rubber arms that stabilize the usb connector and hold it firm to the phone. - This is good to keep the mic secure. Bad in that you will have to remove your case no matter what phone you have. Considerations for iPad Pro 12.9 - Me-C recording levels are significantly lower than the iPad's built-in mics. - I have not found a way to increase the gain in iPad OS or the Rode Reporter recording app. - I have submitted a support ticket to Rode and waiting to hear back. Rode Reporter recording app - On installation of the Android app I was prompted to update the firmware on the mic. - The iPad OS app does not appear to have firmware update capability. - On the Android app, there is a significant difference in sound quality between the Me-C and the built-in Pixel 6 Pro mics. (Unlike the Android Camera app which only produced a small difference) - On the iPad OS app, the recording levels are MUCH lower than the iPad's built-in mics. The recording levels are unusable as-is on the iPad and would have to be increased in an audio production app to make them useful. (hopefully Rode Support can solve this...) Overall I think the Rode Videomic Me-C is worth purchasing given the caveats above. I think the improvement you hear will largely depend on the quality of your smartphone's built-in mics. For those looking to level up your smartphone's audio recording quality even just a modest amount, the Me-C is worth purchasing. ... show more

  • Tons of Audible Feedback Intermittently
I get terrible feedback with this mic. At first I thought it was falling out of the phone a bit so, I got an extension and mounted it on my video rig. That helped some for that application, however, I have the same issue if I'm using it on the computer for meetings. I know Rode is normally super high quality, but I'm disappointed in this purchase. ... show more
