This is certainly a fun accessory for my Canon Sl1. The mic is a bit smaller than expected and that's a good thing b/c it's light and can travel well. I do notice the difference with the sound especially when recording outdoors and the quality is much better with this microphone. Although the mic doesn't fit when my camera is attached to my stabilizer, I will get a new stabilizer for that matter, so make sure that your stabilizer has a little height/distance from the camera mount so that this microphone will fit. ... show more

Bought for my 18 year old going to study photography and videography in college. We tested this by blowing directly on it while he filmed the rest of the family talking. It worked perfectly!

I bought this a couple days ago. I have used it on 4 videos. There is literally 0 difference in quality from using this mic vs using the built in mic on my iphone 6. Ill be setting up a refund asap. What a waste of money. Revision #1 The problem I had was a bad mic port on my iPhone. Once I figured that out I was able to use it and it does work better than the internal mic. It does not however work as well as a $17 usd lav mic that will clip to your lapel. While I think this is a decent mic I dont think its worth the money since it does not out preform or even preform as well as such a cheap lav mic. o I have upgraded from 1 star to 3. ... show more

    • Great until you get WiFi interference, then your audio is junk.
Here is a Mic that is really nice when it works. Actually it is great when it works, but if you get near WiFi signals there is a good chance you will have an audio file that is not usable. I have had to do voice overs on tracks because the audio was useless. Returned the mic, still waiting on a refund. ... show more

    • It is not a very high quality
i'm a filmmaker, this is my first mic and i like it but it is not a pro, if you want a good quality shotgun mic buy pro version, by the way this dead cat has a huge difference in outdoors but it does not reduces wind completely.
