  • Day one. The bolt broke off right away.
Style: Circular saw
just the first day I was working with the item it broke right away. it was the bolt that is holding blade. I saw the same issue and photo from amazon.com review but i thought it wouldnt be my story.

  • LOOK ELSEWHERE, BROKE AFTER 2 HOURS OF USE
Style: Circular saw
Bought this for my husband for some light wood working jobs to be done for the house. While cutting a 1/2" piece of wood, the bolt that secures the blade snapped right off causing the top of the bolt to go flying and the blade to wobble and fall out. He had been using the saw for less than 2 hours before it broke. We really wanted to like this saw but poor design and engineering has rendered it useless. Thankfully we opened it before the return cut off date and Amazon took this defective product back with no hassle. This does not seem to be an isolated incident or user error as others have had the SAME issue. We cannot recommend this product and I would suggest looking elsewhere for a saw. We have attached pictures to show where the bolt snapped. ... show more

  • PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING
Style: Circular saw
I bought this product on 6-9-16 and used it for the first time on 7-01-16. I was cutting 5/8" cdx plywood when the bolt that secures the blade to the saw snapped off. BROKE OFF. The bolt head shot backwards and blade wobbled around as I disengaged the trigger. I was extremely luck not to injured in any capacity. I was fooled by the hype of the commercial and the rugged sounding narrator as the actor cut pieces of 2x4's. Don't buy this product as it clearly has some manufacturer safety issues. Sure I may have gotten the 1 out of 30 that's defective, but it is not good odds when your safety is in jeopardy. ... show more

Style: Circular saw
The saw arrived quickly (thanks Amazon) and appeared to be very well made. It also arrived just in time to get started on a deck project and making quick work of trimming about 50 - 5/4" x 1" pressure treated deck boards. Around 6 to 7 boards into the project, the blade came loose (after making sure the locking screw was set) and the blade came rolling out. Whoops, the locking screw had sheared off and the saw became totally useless. The job was finished after setting up my Makita sliding chop saw and deft use of a hand saw... I lost valuable time and the Rockwell is being returned for a refund. I'm steering clear of Rockwell products. ... show more

  • Piece of JUNK!
Style: Circular saw
Bought this for the hubby for Christmas. It is just now warm enough to go outside and start working on projects around the house. It got turned on, and the screw that holds the blade on snapped in half, but because it's been longer than 30 days, we get to eat the cost of a new saw. Very, very upset at both the crappy product and the crappy return policy. ... show more

  • I liked this for simple
Style: Circular saw
Currently waiting on my refund. I liked this for simple, small cuts. But going into my second small project the nut that holds the blade on snapped in half and the blade shot out into the piece of wood I was cutting. It was not hard wood. It was a pretty soft piece of pine from a pallet, I had removed all nails from the wood. I've read that this has happened with multiple people so I think it's a product quality issue. Either way, as much as I liked the saw, I wouldn't buy another based on the fact I don't feel very safe using it anymore. ... show more

  • Great saw for smaller jobs...earned a spot in my inner circle of tools.
Style: Circular saw
I've used a larger 7 1/2 inch Dewalt circular saw for years. But now it's getting cobwebs because of this Rockwell RK3441K compact saw. This compacts saw is so darn handy, lays easily in my tool bag, is more convenient than my larger traditional circular saw to tot around that it's becoming my go-to saw for small to intermediate cuts in wood and metal. It has a nice /precise /quality rip fence and angle cut feature and the knobs are quick and secure to set any angle cut. I particularly love the blade being on the left side of the drive. This dramatically increased my vision over the cut so it's safer, more accurate, user friendly and better results. My hands are average size (size 8-9 glove size Large) and I find the grip size /surface & design easy to hold on to and user friendly. For small hands this might be a challenge. The trigger pull is less complicated that other saws this size with makes this model Rockwell easier to operate and control while cutting than all other saws this size...in my opinion. The blade turns as a slower RPM than my full size Dewalt, but if you slow down your feed this saw handles anything I throw it's way giving a clean crisp cut and does not bog down. For big tough jobs simply use a bigger saw. The blade I found Best for all around cuts in wood /metal /longevity was a Freud D0436X Diablo 4-3/8-Inch 36 Tooth ATB Cordless Trim Saw Blade that I've used with no issues at all. I am not easy to impress, but this compact medium duty Rockwell has earned its way into my inner circle of tools. I am Very pleased with the quality features, portability and durability of this handy saw. Recommend this without reservations and consider the hundred dollar cost a fair value. ----UPDATE---- Have used this Rockwell saw for several months now and and it's still rock solid. No issues at all. The adjustable guide fence is real handy,...quick and secure adjustment lever,...easy to make quick /secure fence adjustments. I've also used this saw in unconventional situations where I had to remove material from wood in such a way I was able to turn the saw over, expose the blade and carefully angle the wood into the blade to free-hand & create a router type effect. It was the only way to finish a particular cut and this saw has the flexibility to help. Never know what you'll run into during a project and glad this saw has extra flexibility to adapt. Continues to earn my unqualified recommendation! ... show more
