Description

Rockville designers, engineers, and product development managers spent 6 months developing the all-new ROCKBOX. We developed what we consider to be the best combination of portability and sound. The ROCKBOX is an extremely light- weight and portable Bluetooth speaker that has amazing sound and an amazing battery life. Pure sound! The ROCKBOX has 100 watts of power! The most impressive thing to me about this speaker is the sound quality! The bass is incredible! I compared this against a $300 home theater speaker and this had way better bass! The highs are also crystal clear. To really test this speaker hard, I turned the volume up 100% to the max, turned the bass up 100% to the max and played some bass-heavy rap songs, and all I can say is wow! There was no distortion at all! Even when maxing this thing out the music is loud and clear with no distortion! When I say loud, I am not exaggerating. At top volume you are likely to hear complaints from your neighbors. The ROCKBOX has a top of the line Bluetooth module built in. The Bluetooth range is around 65 feet. Once paired for the first time it will auto pair to your phone in under 5 seconds from when you turn the unit on. The Bluetooth volume level is excellent and the sound quality is excellent in Bluetooth mode or any other mode. The USB input allows you to play back your songs stored on a thumb drive. You can also connect an MP3 player or other USB device to the speaker through the USB. The SD card slot allows you to play back songs stored on an SD card. There is also a 3.5MM auxiliary input to connect a phone or other audio device. You can also use the aux input to connect this to your computer or laptop. We also added an FM radio. The radio will only work when you plug an aux cable into the aux input. The aux cable acts as an antenna to get you radio reception.

I love a lot of things about this; long battery life, good powerful volume, clarity, durability and portability. I use one next to my table when I am working out or cooking in the kitchen. The other one I keep in my practice room when I play keyboard against songs on Spotify. One of the two I bought in 2018, the other was last year. The only drawback is the FM radio. I can't say it doesn't work, I have picked up stations, but you can only dial them through scanning. (It does not pick up AM stations.) You can't dial in the station manually. I would hope they would modify this in the future. Another problem is that there's no antennae, so you have to shift the whole speaker around to try to angle it to receive a station without static. One solution is to have an FM radio with 1/8" output to connect to the Rockbox. The AUX connection works great. So I rate it highly for the bluetooth compatibility and AUX connection. If the bluetooth does not connect right away, the thing that always worked for me was to switch off the Rockbox, enable bluetooth on the device, then switch the Rockbox back on, it should find it. The drawback is the difficulty of tuning FM stations, which I never do. I have over forty Spotify playlists with thousands of songs, I don't need anybody to DJ for me... ... show more

A-W-E-S-O-M-E product!!! I 100% recommend getting this "Rockville ROCKBOX 6.5" 100 Watt Portable Rechargeable Bluetooth Speaker with USB/SD". This has a built in FM radio tuner with memory presets (Radio requires an aux cable to be plugged into getting reception). This comes with a rechargeable 6000mAH lithium battery lasts 24 hours (exact battery operation depends on volume, and what source you are using, but this battery is about 500% larger than our competitors). 100 Watts Peak Power / 50 Watts Program Power / 25 Watts RMS Power, and you can charge it while u sleep. I also love that the range that this has (65ft), and a crisp clear reception as well. My husband is very meticulous and says only great things about this speaker! We were looking for a relatively wireless Bluetooth speaker to replace a fun looking BIG “boom box” style speaker that only lasted us for about a year (we used that one so much that it wore out with all the traveling that we did with it, and the wear and tear that we used it for). Our primary use is for streaming music from our favorite music stations, and internet radio services such as Pandora and Spotify, Youtube, Sirius XM, and iHeartRadio. We love that this can be used as a versatile listening device by the pool, lake, backyard, eating at the dinner table...you get the point, lol! This ROCKBOX has "Exceeded" our expectations by far, and I highly recommend! Great sound for the size. Great for a portable sound system I have only had issue with the power cable getting broken and the port getting damaged.

Speaker box is easy to use, and easy to use the Bluetooth connection. Looks great! Not very loud at all, and the bass is nonexistent. I have a smaller speaker that sounds better than this one. I gave it 3 stars because of its cost and a decent sound. Just don’t expect anyone to be impressed with the volume or sound. I keep mine in the camper to be used at lower volumes while relaxing or getting ready to go somewhere. Works fine for that! ... show more
