I'm very pleased with the rock party 9 The base is pretty good it could be better but I'm going to give five stars for the overall The base is pretty good maybe I my expectations are out of line I'm not sure but I had a stereo that was an excess brand and I paid $660 for it and I loved it it was small it was portable but the battery over time kind of went away maybe overcharged it maybe I left it at low voltage for too long a period but that was that one but this one the sound is better than that one of course it's got a section score for this one's nine so it sounds good The usability of the device is good I live in a van so I'm using solar to recharge it it's I've used it most of the day and it took me like less than 2 hours to charge it That's so the charging seems to go quickly but I'm not taking it all the way down a quarter to half is probably my average and there are times when I do crank it up but I'm camping out in the desert and there's other people around so I keep it reasonable but nobody's within maybe 80 yards of me at least if not a hundred but I would give it five stars and I would say for real life it's a little big but I'm going to make it work because I like it I live in a cargo van that I built out as a small RV and time space is is priority it takes up some space but it works and so if this one gets old I'll buy another one if they are still out there The battery is really good it charges quickly from the power I have through solar I like how loud it gets I haven't tried the mic I have tried most everything else that works pretty good I had a 150 songs in a thumb drive I put on there I also put the speaker next to my buddy that's camping not too far away and I put some grizzly bear sounds and sent it over to him with Bluetooth. So I'm happy customer Yes I do prank stuff I put the speaker in the bushes when someone walks by I'll a cougar sound yeah yeah maybe I shouldn't do that but it's fine ... show more

One improvement would make this thing 5 Stars! (are you listening Rockville Rock Party? I know you can bring this to the next level!) Fix the fact that the remote power button only powers the unit off. If it would power the unit back on this would be worth so much more. As you can see from where I put it I don't want to have to reach under the table each time to switch the unit back on. I currently just switch the mode via the remote when I walk away because the unit stays plugged in at all times and this is enough of a work around for now. Each time the mode is switched the speaker light pattern returns to default setting, so you will need to cycle it a time or two depending on your desired lighting pattern. (I need some way to make the unit let go of the phone each time I am finished, this is just what I have come up with) So much rich sound and plenty of bass too! I could probably get a noise citation if I played this on my porch at night max volume. I live far apart from my neighbors. This is a very good unit for the money. I am still glad I bought it! ... show more

    • Prime example of why you choose quality over price
I ordered this last night and it showed up this afternoon! I was expecting it to arrive till next week. Who could ask for anything more? As far as performance goes, this thing really packs a punch. I would go as far to say, that it gives the jbl partybox 110 a run for its money at more than half the cost. 5 month update.... the speaker stopped taking a charge and does not power on. I've emailed rockville and even called to try and use the manufacturers warranty. I am now at the mercy of rockvilles customer and technical service teams which dont seam to be very eager to assist me. My buddy has the jbl partybox 10 and has had it a couple months longer than I've had the rockville. The charge and the sound quality still holding up and this thing get put through b the ringer. Cheaper isnt always better I guess..... ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This speaker is exactly what I wanted it to be. The ultimate goal was to use it in the back of my truck for parades, and have it be loud enough and enough bass for spectators to at least hear it. So far I've tried it out in a couple different spaces - one a school gym, and another an event space - and both times it literally FILLED the spaces with music. In the gym it felt exactly like a school dance, and the event space felt like a night club. A DJ friend of mine said that these Rockville speakers are as close as you can get to the big expensive JBL PartyBox speakers without spending that kind of money. 100% satisfied, can't wait for the next excuse to use it. In the video as I'm walking around the gym you can hear a part where the sound seems to cut out - that's because I walked into a sweet spot where the bass echoed just right and you couldn't hear anything else! ... show more
