    • Great value! Good sound, loud, easy to use!
First, I use this instead of a portable Bluetooth speaker in my backyard and NOT as a PA speaker. My yard backs up to a fairly busy road and even though I have a large wall the noise is noticeable when busy. Coupled with the kids and dogs and general goings-on of a busy yard, none of the portable speakers we have tried have been loud enough to contend. This thing is. And then some. In fact I will say in comparison it is comically loud. I typically set the volume around 3-4 and use the volume adjustment of my phone to fine-tune it while streaming. As someone else recommended, I set the bass fairly low and the treble high and the sound quality is really good. I did try adjusting the settings differently a few times and tested max volume max bass etc... but completely overkill. At max volume it would be a nuisance to my entire neighborhood. There are a few downsides but for me they are far outweighed by the positives. 1. Bass performance is not great. Not only does it not lack a great lunch, but even moderate bass is questionable at louder volumes. 2. Bluetooth is inconsistent. I typically keep my phone within a few feet. Some days it works from 50’ away, some days it gets choppy at 10. Never anything major. Occasionally it won’t pair, flip the power off/on and it pairs again in two seconds. 3. Remote was/is garbage. This doesn’t bother me since I don’t rely on it. However if you needed to use the remote I fear you would be disappointed. Many reviews seem to say the same. As far as I am concerned, this serves me extremely well and I am beyond satisfied. For the cost this is hands down the best speaker I’ve ever purchased, what it lacks in portability is more than compensated in function. 5 stars for value. I originally gave it 4 stars because of the bass and remote, but I’m going to change it because for the price I don’t see how you could expect better. I’m no expert in PA systems but I understand that they don’t deliver bass the same way a similar 12” sub would for a car audio system so I don’t consider it a detriment and honestly I think the remote is functional just not fantastic. ... show more

I’ve never even come close to using this at full volume, it’s VERY loud! I use it with my Edrums and the bass shakes the house! Super easy to set up and use. Connects to Bluetooth flawlessly. Very heavy and great quality. This is cheaper than a lot of other brands but works just as well! If I had to pick a negative I’d say I wish the on switch was at the top not the bottom, but it’s not that big of a deal, it’s just inconvenient for my space. My phone could barely grab the bass it was so loud, this was with the module at less that 1/4 volume and speaker around 1/4 volume. ... show more

    • Great PA speaker for Vocal Presentation at a Good Price with Excellent Customer Service
I use this PA for Poetry and Fiction readings at an intimate local brew pub, and it fills the bill perfectly. The sound is big and the Bluetooth allows me to program some intro music. The speaker cabinet is rugged and durable, but I think a cover or bag is essential to keep dirt and other junk from getting in the speaker. Sound response is very full for a single cardio mic. The first speaker sent was defective and damaged in shipping, but customer service on the part of both the seller and Rockville were exceptionally attentive. I needed the speaker for a gig I have coming up in a few weeks. They cross-shipped, and the speaker arrived in plenty of time to rehearse and mount the gig. Lots of good communication to process and track the shipment. I've now used the Rockville BPA12 for my first gig, so I can give you a better idea of how the speaker functions in a medium-sized brewery venue. The sound quality-- highs and lows-- is exceptionally clear and bright with powerful volume for this size speaker array. Given my specialized use as purely a vocal speech amplification/projection system the sound quality is exceptionally clear with speech sounds not muddied, so that words project accurately and forcefully. The venue is narrow (about 40ft across and 100 ft deep) with quite high ceilings that might swallow the sound, but the Rockville performed like a champ with no feedback even in the full high position.     • Arrived a Dud *** Had to fix loose speaker wire
Will certainly come back and change if a replacement or refund is issued, but what an unfortunate experience. I've never bought a piece of electronics that was defective in my life. I did have a swim MP3 that was waterproof and failed within a couple of swims, but this speaker arrive bad. Excited to test it out today. It arrived before my beach trip where I play guitar on our porch in the evenings. This was a new toy to explore that hobby. I took it out of the box at home before the trip and left in the plastic wrap on the way down in the front seat beside me. Smelled like burned electronics on the 2 hour drive. Saw some comments about this smell in other reviews, so thought it was just from the manufacturing process. Got to the beach and hook it up. Light on, but all inputs were tested and nothing but high frequencies barely audible from the tweeter. Contacted seller. Think I'll go with a different brand, but if the seller sends a replacement quick and all works, I'll modify this review. Update: Speaker wire came off terminal. Saw another review where a unit arrived with woofer speaker wire broke loose. Was hesitant, but amp detached easily and sure enough, one side's solder connection was undone. Really makes me question the durability. Luckily I had the tools and from fixed with strong solder. Sounds good to me. Never had a PA full range speaker, but projects music via Bluetooth really well. Loud. Using on my back screened in porch for yard music. Also for my guitar via amp modeling platform. Sounds good to me for the price. If never played through true FRFR PA... sure it would be better, but found nice tones from my boss me25 with this unit. Nice for backing tracks via phone. Use to run them through a Bluetooth guitar amp and speaker which lacked the high end obviously. Also for my drum pedal. ... show more
