I got this for my German Shepherd puppy. I got the large and at the moment it fits him well, and still room for him to grow. It seems very sturdy at this moment. It was not very easy for me to put together by myself. Lucky my daughter was home and was able to lend a hand. It isn't very light weight either. The roof is very heavy so there for, I by myself can't just pick up and move it. I do like the adjustable legs on the bottom of it for our yard isn't very flat...just wish it could go shorter on the legs. I do like the window on it for it helps air flow and he needs that in the summer, I also enjoy the idea of the cover for the window and flaps for winter. We haven't had winter yet so I don't know how well they work yet. All and all my puppy loves it, it keeps him dry and that's all that matters on my end. ... show more

Overall, I am pleased with the dog house! Panels come pre-assembled - with mostly pre-drilled holes for all included hardware. Easy to put together & becomes sturdier as each piece is attached. Only steps that I’d recommend a helper is for the roof. My only con is the overall quality of the dog house, each panel feels a bit flimsy. It may be a problem for those with larger dogs - but my small dog shouldn’t cause any damage. I highly recommend lightly sanding every panel before assembly; there were some rough edges & sections, but a light sanding will do the trick. All in all, pretty good dog house. I have mine under my porch so it will not be exposed to the elements - so I cannot speak for how rain/direct sun will affect it; but I am hoping for a long lasting dog house! ... show more

    • You can reverse the front, but you give up the floor

I bought this to hide my pool filter. When I asked if the house can be built with the front reversed so that the door was on the left, I was told no even though I specified that I wasn’t using the floor. The answer is absolutely yes it can. The inside will show on the outside and you give up use of the floor, but it is incredibly easy to turn the front around and secure it to the rest of the house. The inside looks pretty good as the front but it doesn’t matter to me because that’s the part that will face the pool. The roof is installed the same either way and will protect my equipment and serve as a table next to my pool ( it’s semi in-ground so the heights match beautifully). The hinged roof gives much needed access to the equipment and the little window is great for running the electric. For those who have dogs, it is a pretty sturdy house. My dog was 90 lbs and would not have fit even though I bought the large. It’s a cute house but I would worry about the heat in summer. If you have fresh cool water and maybe a portable fan, your smaller fur baby should be quite happy. ... show more

This is definitely not for extra large dogs. At least not for them to be comfortable. We bought this for our German shepherd but he barely fits in it and doesn't want to go in since the opening is kind of small. Thankfully our other smaller dog and our pig love it so it serves its purpose. It isn't hard to put together, but the instructions weren't clear on which side of each panel should be facing outward and I had to take it apart twice and put it back together because I got a few steps further and realized it wouldn't work. So be mindful of which side is facing out as you build this. It's not heavy at all. I was able to move the box, assemble it, and move it to the desired location in our back yard all by myself. It doesn't feel very sturdy though. I'm not sure how long it will last in the crazy south Texas weather, however it does the trick and our animals are happy with it since they are mostly indoors. I would recommend getting a better dog house if your dogs are solely outside. Just so they have more space and a nicer build. ... show more

I added a picture with my dogs for size. I got the large and it fits two medium dogs. The house is beautiful but it came chipped. One piece that was broken was a major piece that I had to super glue to assemble the house. Another piece was chipped too but it was more cosmetic than anything. Also assembly was not easy. We had to redrill many of the holes as well as add holes for the roof. It took multiple people to put together. I was lucky a friend of mine had a drill or I would not have been able to assemble it. Otherwise it’s a pretty house for the price. Lightweight and easy to move. I love that the lid holds open on its own. ... show more

I have three Indian Runner Ducks and so I bought the small one since it holds up to 25 pounds. Easy to put together. Yes, it had a few chips but that's normal. There was no major damage. I picked this house because of three reasons: the top opens up for easily egg collection, it had a small window which I can open for air flow and close if to cold, and the floor comes up in two pieces for easy cleaning. Because the floor is like a privacy fence lets good air flow its great during the summer. My ducks can stand really cold weather, they swim in the winter so it works great because ducks need air flow since they build up a lot of moisture but you wouldnt leave any other kind of pet out during the winter because they won't still warm enough.
