I think these products are really hit & miss and mostly depends on the dog. Henry is our brand new 8 week old puppy, that is mostly mild mannered but does like to chew everything wood and the metal door stops. I put a couple of sprays on his "favorite" chew spots & he was immediately turned off. He got a little whiney when we realized he no longer liked the taste of the door stops but quickly went on to play with something else. Might not work for all dogs but did for mine for now! The only thing ive noticed after using for a couple of days is that I might have to re-spray an area every few days, which isnt ideal but not a deal breaker. ... show more

Have tried this product over the last month with my 3 month old puppy and has not seen it work at all. If anything it attracts him more to the item we are trying to protect.

Welllll…my three doggos must be in that small percentage for whom this did not deter from chewing at ALL. I’m still giving it 3 stars because in all fairness, the reviews are good so it must work…and granted, my doggos are weird, lol, but when I tested it out by spraying it all over three old shoes and giving one to each dog, all three had a fine time chewing the shoes, even LICKING them! I had sprayed part of the couch with it…and they all sniffed it out and then started licking THAT! Whaaat?! It’s as if I smothered each shoe in peanut butter or something because they all LOVED it. I got this to dissuade my dog from a self soothing habit of chewing/nibbling on her front legs. It seems to work well enough when she does it. I spray it on her legs and she stops chewing, but it doesn’t seem to last more than a few hours so it’s not a long lasting solution. It doesn’t seem to work as a retained memory of unpleasant taste. She gets a blech response like she tasted something bitter and then just moves on to do something else. I suspect spraying her legs with anything else may get the same response. I do know it tastes bitter, so if you’re spraying a lot on an area, keep it away from your face, I accidentally sprayed some when she was too close to the air purifier and had an essence of it waft in my mouth as I was talking to her and it definitely doesn’t taste great. I think this might help as a supportive tool but definitely doesn’t solve the problem. ... show more

Pros: no horrific smell that seems to get stuck on your clothes and skin and somehow in your mouth like certain other products I won’t name Made with natural ingredients Can be used on your skin to teach puppies to not bite or nip No staining Made by a company that makes great products. Cons: Dogs smelled it. Walked away , licked their lips trying to figure it out, circled around back to it… and well, they didn’t seem to mind it. Kept chewing my chair. Within the day were back to nibbling and biting arms hands and feet. The only thing it may have helped was my puppy chew a little less on my other dogs hot spot. Was gentle on the skin. I REALLY wanted to like this product. It’s rated well and doesn’t smell disgusting. But it just didn’t work. ... show more

Extremely disappointed. This did not deter my puppy at all from biting and chewing, in fact it made it far worse as he seems to love it. Everything that we sprayed with this product had to be removed until we could wash it since our dog would not leave it alone. So much for 3x the bitterness of our competitors.
