Pros: *sturdy steel that can probably hold more than it is rated for. It’s machined well and fit perfectly, with concavity to accomodate the screw heads going into the old plate you’re trying to convert *worked to mount an inexpensive HP monitor to an old Altedec VESA monitor stand. *came with 4 metric screws — good because I lost a screw from the original stand Cons: *A little pricey for a piece of steel Sum: If you need it, you need it. There really aren’t a lot of good options and it would require some skill to make one as good as this.

My favorite old Dell monitor from 2001 (not a typo) finally burned out. I really like the screen on the new narrow-format Dell monitor which I purchased, but as is the way now, it came with a base far flimsier than the one on the more solid old Dell. This adapter plate allowed me to mount the new screen on the old base as seen in the attached picture - the best of both worlds. Highly recommend.

I recently upgraded my work/home monitors with a Black Friday purchase to dual side by side 27" monitors as my 24" started to have lines through a few of the LEDs. The monitors are suspended so I didn't have the need for the 27" stands. The 24" were still usable for other computers in the house that weren't used frequently, so I went to retrieve the 24" stands from the garage only to find they were fixed (not tiltable, no vertical adjustment) but the 27" stands that were being unused, had those features. The problem is the 24" monitors had a 100mm mount whereas the 27" monitors (and stands) had the 75mm mount. The suspended arms had both, so the new monitors weren't an issue. I bought these mounts for both 24" monitors and they mounted easy - the 75mm were threaded and the 100mm were pass-through holes. On one of the mounts one of the lower holes ate up the screw so it is being suspended by 3 screws. I thought it was the screw but when I used another screw it ate that up too. As of now it holds up the monitor fine, but I may return it for a new one considering these plates are $14 and why have a defective product if I don't need to. Comes with 4 mounting screws that when tightened keep from hitting the monitor due to the dome shape to the mount. I think for what it is, these could be made cheaper with less material (these also have considerable weight to them being steel) but honestly these were the least expensive option on Amazon so I'm happy with them (minus the one hole).

Very high quality. German "heft." 1/8 thick stamped steel plate. From the description 75-to-100mm I expected the 100mm holes to be tapped, however, its the 75mm holes that are tapped (VESA standard M4) and the 100mm holes are through holes. I guess it depends on your perspective. Anyway, I drilled out the 75mm holes and it works fine. The hole patter is precise - right on. Corners have been rounded. The edges have been broken and deburred. Quality paint - black. I had been making these adapters in baltic birch ply with T-nuts. I'm never going back. 5 stars !!!

This product is amazing. Before I had it hanging my LCD monitors was a travesty - I had 75mm brackets and when I put a 100mm monitor up they'd just fall to the floor and break, At first I tried aluminum brackets but with no screws the monitor fell immediately (hint: even though it's broken, a monitor is still good for practice and testing of hanging!). I tried scotch tape, which held for a few minutes, but eventually the tape across the display surface (even the clear shiny tape) gets annoying. Unfortunately, I had no clear duct tape. I knew there had to be a better way, so off to Amazon! Amazingly they had a product in this bracket that allowed me to adapt the 75mm to 100mm spacing! (it is no coincidence that Amazon and amazing share their first 4 letters!). Frankly, I was skeptical to start, how could a simple piece of metal solve all my problems? A couple of days later I had my answer! When it arrived I was concerned that there was no instruction manual. But a quick search of the Internet showed that the holes probably needed screws in them. They included a bag of 4 screws and after a few hours of puzzling I discovered that they fit right into the threaded holes on the plate! I consulted my daughter next who explained that I should take the existing screws on the LCD remove them and then use them to attach the adapter. Then use the supplied screws to attach the plate to the bracket. Again I was skeptical that such a hare-brained thing would work, but darned if it didn't. My daughter is very smart. Overall, the adapter is very plain looking, and apparently you can only get it in one color (black) and one flavor (yuck). The shiny surface picked up fingerprints easily, but a quick pass with window cleaner fixed that. It's hard to keep from getting fingerprints, but once it's installed you won't see the ones hidden on the back side, thought that still bugs me. Do not put this in your mouth! It tastes awful. If they had any instructions with it, I would strongly recommend that they say this. Also do not throw this for your dog to catch (mine spent a week in the veterinary clinic, but some very nice people from the ASPCA talked to me and she's home now). Again it would be nice if you they told you this up front.
