My Uncaged Ergonomics RISE UP electric sit/stand desk frame arrived and, I have to say, I was a bit nervous about it. I went with this option over the much more expensive iMovr Lander option ($750+ desk frame) and other more expensive options like Jarvis (which I already own for my wife's desk), UpliftDesk or Standdesk ( all 3 around $450-$550) so I was expecting a tough build and a product with some flaws. My first observation was the packing, It was incredibly well packed so there was no chance of damage during shipping. I mean, really, really well packaged. Once I opened it and reviewed the instructions, I got to work on the build. It was simply designed and well engineered. No problem with missing parts, poor paint/welds, or mis-aligned screw threads, etc. Really no issue at all putting this together. All in, it took right at one hour from start to finish and I was going slow and easy. The instructions come as a single page that has illustrations that are easy to follow and well worded. No problem expanding the desk for my 6 foot long desk and it could easily go wider out but I didn't measure how far to confirm the max distance. They provide all the hardware to mount your desk to the frame, secure the electrical control and include stick-on "zip like" ties for cable management. I was also surprised to receive 6 rubber spacers for use between the frame and desk top. I'd read DIY guides recommending you add these...and Uncaged Ergonomics had already included them. Once built, I checked the heights to ensure they were true to the specs. It has a low height of 26" and max height of 52". It easily lifts my 6' by 3', 100 pound butcher block desk top with my PC and Monitor on the desk. No problems at all. It is also quiet and lifts fast but starts out and stops smoothly so no jarring at all. I am really impressed with the quality and the price is unbeatable. Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor if you are going the DIY route and get this frame over the other available options. My initial impression is this desk is sturdier and better built than the Jarvis desk frame. Time will tell if it also has a solid reliability record but it is off to a great start. ... show more

Looked for 5 star reviews. Dual motor was probably overkill for me, but wanted ability to enlarge desktop surface in the future. I am starting with 42" x 24" (smallest size that it will accommodate) top since this is my second desk. 1. Packed extremely well. Extra strength cardboard on outside and high density foam inserts on the inside. 2. Quality - Fit, Paint Finish, Very Sturdy, Quiet motors, no strain...I could see 6ft top with 200 lbs no problem. 3. Programming controller - initiating controller and programming worked first time. 4. I purchased Acacia butcher block top from big box red home retailer, stained walnut and finished in multiple coats of water based polyacrylic polyurethane. 5. I would say it goes head to head easily with name brand more expensive adjustable desks without paying for their advertising....may even be better if you add premium table top like I did. 6. Relatively easy assembly if you are even a little handy around the house. Need a phillips screwdriver. I used a powered version to make it easier and faster. I decided to make my own desktop since I no longer work in the office due to the pandemic, but I wanted the same functionality of the variable height desk I used at work, so I did my homework and decided to purchase this desktop base, based on a lot of research. I am very happy with it! Pros: very, very sturdy; well-made and engineered. I built a 1.5” thick walnut desktop, measuring 29” x 60”. It probably weighs 90 lbs and the base handles the weight with no problem. The motors are quiet; you know that they are running, but the noise is minimal. Cons: not really any issues, per se. Take your time with the instructions and the table will go together easily. The table’s electronics did not work the first time, but I followed the reset instructions and it worked, first time. The memory settings took a bit of time to get working, but a slow reading of the instructions fixed that issue as well. The instructions are a bit jumbled, but everything is there that you need. Take it slow and you will be fine with assembly. Bottom Line: this is a great heavy-duty desk base and worth the extra money. You will have an easy time with assembly if you take your time with the instructions and have an extra person to help out. ... show more

It's super nice. Smooth, quick and quiet operation. Very sturdy, solid looking welds(I'm a former welder), beefy screw sizes. Desk has no sway to it even with legs fully extended. Separating the tabletop from the legs with rubber inserts was a nice touch that I appreciate- no irritating vibration noise when I'm working with sub-heavy audio. Instructions aren't great but assembly was straightforward. The price was a bit hard to swallow but I have no regrets. I got what I paid for and I'm glad I didnt risk going with a cheaper model. Update: after over a year of daily use, up and down multiple times a day, with a load of around 150lbs, this desk continues to function perfectly.
