We are planning to introduce the kids, 7 and 9, to backpacking in the Appalachians this summer so I needed some sleeping bags that would fit in their kid-sized packs. Summer nights in the Virginia mountains get down to the 50s. This bag looked like it would fit the bill so I ordered one to check it out. Now I came back and ordered the other three =) Cinched up, it's about half the bulk of our regular 3-season bags, but just 1 lb 1oz less. The fabric is soft and I think it will be just warm enough for our needs. Will update in a few months after the real test, but I know I was wary of buying something that only had a few reviews so I'm adding mine right away. I also think that it will be a good extra blanket to throw on top of our thicker sleeping bags for cool-weather camping. *8/16/2023 update: We still love them! They were perfect for our backpacking trip, and we also swapped out our regular blankets for these when sleeping in our camper this summer. I used this sleeping bag on a recent camping trip in the desert where the night started out hot and then got very cold by morning, and I had no issues with being very sweaty and then freezing when the temps dropped. It got down to around 55 sleeping in a tent on the ground where the tub turned to mesh just above my shoulder and I was just wearing a tank top and normal lightweight leggings. Used this for camping where it dropped down to about 35 and I was warm.easy zipper and smooth. I like the way the inside feels. I’m rating it 4 stars because I washed it , soon as I got it and one of the seams as you can see broke apart. Not a big issue.

The picture makes it look line you can hold it in one hand. Nope. This is not compact. It is bigger than what the picture makes it out to be. It came vacuum sealed and even at the vacuum sealed state, it was not the size shown in the pic. What you should know: - It weighs in at 1.12kg/2.5 lbs. with the compression sack. So it’s light enough for the fill, and dead-on true to the advertised weight. - It’s not thick, but not too thin either…it’s comfy. Based on the fill, I expect this bag to be cozy around 40 deg F. (For males anyway, as females tend to need warmer bags. So the 50 deg. rating is probably accurate.) - The quality of the bag seems good. The zippers are plastic (typical), and I’ve found no stitching flaws. And the main zipper has a red plastic “head” on it which really minimizes catching of the liner when zipping…nice touch. - The size is good. I’m 6’1” 270lbs., with broad shoulders. I have no concerns on length, and the width is plenty adequate. Sleeping bags are generally a little tight in the chest/shoulders for me…some of which I just can’t use….but I have plenty of room in this bag. - It unzips completely to a “blanket”, and is even reversible, though the “foot zipper” would be on the inside. Oh yeah, it also has a foot/double zipper for ventilation. - The sack is adequate, easy enough to stuff the bag back into the sack. Compressed, the bag is “soccer ball” size, perhaps smaller. - I’d have preferred a more earthy or grey color option (more aesthetic to me, but more so less dingy after use and cleaning). The baby blue is okay I guess though. And it doesn’t really matter for performance. Bottom Line: Quality and good-sized bag…fill and temp rating also seems “on-par”. ... show more
