Update 9 Jan 2021 - Still working! Ring pathlights still operating on batteries from July 2019. May need replacing in a couple of months. Working great. These do link with Ring doorbell to record motion. No complaints. Installed 5 steplights. Have had to replace one that quit working. Have replaced batteries in three once. Steplights work as intended and provide motion alerts. Overall very pleased with Ring products! ----------------------------------------------- Update 25 Oct 19 - Updating from 3 to 5 stars!! Contacted Amazon who provided a return receipt and refunded a pro-rated cost of light since it was a "deal". But then we received an email from Daniel - Amazon Executive Community Support who specializes in Ring devices. Daniel had read my review and wanted to discuss our issue with the pathlight. He wanted us to return the light to him but unfortunately we had already dropped it off at UPS. These lights are weather resistant so water should not have gotten inside battery compartment. We were provide a replacement. Fantastic customer service from Amazon/Ring! Now to review the lights - we use these lights with our Ring doorbell. Dusk to Dawn is turned off. We have them set to come on after dark if/when motion is detected. A couple are linked to doorbell to record all motion. Brightness is set at 4. Battery level is still full. These lights are wonderful!! (Just added 3 Ring Steplights! May order more if they hold up as well as pathlights.) ------------------------ Purchased 15 July 19. 4 pathlights and bridge. Working beautifully until yesterday when one of the lights quit working. We discovered water inside the battery compartment resulting in corrosion of all 4 D cell batteries. There is also condensation in the glass surrounding lightbulb and condensation in the motion sensor. We brought it inside to dry but the condensation isn't drying up. We checked the other 3 path lights and they were completely dry. I contacted Ring to discuss replacement but the customer service representative said I needed to contact Amazon first (but seemed willing to replace based on Amazon response). Waiting to see what Amazon has to say. Will update if/when I have an answer.

I bought this light to illuminate the path outside my back door for when I take the dog out to potty after dark. The motion feature works great, and you can set up how long it stays on after motion is detected up to 5 minutes - this would be nice to have more control over, but it's worked for our purposes. My only complaint is that it's so bright that you can't really look directly at it, but because of this, it illuminates a large area (more than the path itself). I've owned it for about 15 months and it still works perfectly and the finish has also held up nicely. It takes 4 D-size batteries, and I use the rechargeable type. I think they last for about 6 months before needing to be charged, which isn't bad because I have a 2nd set that I swap out and recharge - saves lots of money in the end and is more convenient. I highly recommend this path light if you also don't get enough sun where you would be placing it in order to use the solar version.

installation and setup was easy as can be. had to get creative when driving the plastic stakes into the ground bc i couldn’t find my rubber mallet but other than that it was smooth sailing. since installation IS so easy, however, i do have fears of the lights being stolen. easy to put on, easy to take off. motion detection is great and all the lights were triggered by detection on one light just like i wanted. you can select the sensitivity of the motion detector on each light in the app. battery life is pretty terrible but that could be due to my personal settings. i used duracell batteries and they’re dead after 27 days. my settings are: off during daytime, on dim dusk to dawn with the least sensitive setting for detecting dusk, and the shortest setting for lights staying on after being triggered. i’ll have to make adjustments to that to extend battery life. i do like that this system is wireless, though, so that’s a trade off you just have to take in terms of powering the system. overall, pretty good product with decent value. i’d buy again! thinking of adding more lights to the yard in fact :)
