  • Easy to install and great peace of mind
Configuration: 2-Pack Alarm Glass Break Sensor
The lack of glass break sensors is what almost led me to pick a different brand of alarm, but I'm glad I waited and they released these. They are a bit bigger than most of the other sensors, but still small enough to tuck away. Setup is as simple as scanning the code, removing the battery tab, and mounting. For others saying it won't detect anything, by default it is in power saving mode that only detects when the alarm is set to away or home. If you want it to detect (but not trigger the alarm) when disarmed, you can go into the Mode Settings of the sensor and turn of power saving. I did that to test both of my sensors and both picked up perfectly. The sensors also report tamper back to the alarm when they are removed from the backing. As far as mounting, they can be attached with screws, the included sticky tape, or just laid on a surface. I chose to firmly mount mine so they can't be moved without setting off the tamper alert. The sensor is powered by 3 AA batteries that will be easy to change when needed. ... show more

  • Easy to connect to Ring Alarm system, sometimes false alarm
Configuration: 2-Pack Alarm Glass Break Sensor
I have a (almost) full set of Ring system from cameras to sensors. But unlike the motion sensor which you can adjust the sensitivity, the glass break sensor is super easy to be kicked off by nothing. Last night, my cat scratched the his food bowl near the sensor, and this little sound did not weak me up but triggered the alarm. It is very annoying. Hope the Ring company can improve the AI, or at least provide the possibility to adjust the sensitivity. I'm not blaming Ring company for this issue because even human may also mis-hearing and mis-judging. Now I placed the sensor further away from the cat bowl so that no more false alarm was ever triggered. ... show more

  • Buying additional extenders hoping it solves the problem.
Configuration: 2-Pack Alarm Glass Break Sensor
Update. After adding the extenders, they still did not respond. Ring customer service updated the extenders and then said to return Amazon's sensors and buy from them. I did not do this, because they also said that the sensors are not meant to respond to audio tracks. He said they listen for the break and then the crash to the ground. I decided to test them again with dropping silverware onto the floor. Each one separately responded. My only concern is that some of them are over carpet and if the glass hits the carpet, it may not pick up the sound. But as far as I can tell, the added extenders seem to have done the job. Raising my review from a 1 to a 4. I am embarrassed to tell you how many ring items I have currently on my two properties. I have cameras. I have the alarm systems. I have sensors - contact and motion. I have drank the Kool-Aid and just keep on buying. I found out after starting the installation process of a new ring alarm system that I actually have a physical alarm system already installed here hardwired into my house. A little reluctantly, I opted to go ahead with the ring system, since I had all the parts in hand, and the monitoring was less expensive. One thing that the hardwired system offered was glass break and I decided to seek that out specifically to try to bring the system up to par with the hardwired one. I bought four glass brake sensors - two x two packs. I actually shattered glass in my house multiple times and only one sensor alarmed one time. Then, I used a glass break video on YouTube and none of the sensors alarmed. I contacted customer service and was on the phone with them for over an hour and a half. Ultimately, even with one of the sensors right next to the base station not alarming, the rep told me that she thinks the problem is that I don’t have enough extenders. Tried placing them higher on the wall per her suggestion (ripping paint off the wall moving it from a little lower location and with no success.) I have since purchased two additional extenders, and I will update my review once I receive those two extenders. This will be a total of three extenders in my home for a total of four glass break alarms. My house is about 6200 sq feet, but the alarms are not so spread out. I'm not sure why an extender should help the alarm sound more than the base station, but she made it sound like that was a possibility. The sensor would not sound sitting right next to the base, and she said my signal was wavering in and out, and I needed the extenders. Again, I will update once I have the extenders in place - at this point they are paperweights. I am so deeply disappointed. I was actually concerned about them being too sensitive because we have birds in the house. Will report back later, hopefully able to change my rating. ... show more

Works really good. I actually tested it by breaking a old glass cup close by and it did pick up the broken glass sound roughly 12 feet away.

  • A Must for Rooms with Security Risk Windows
Configuration: 1-Pack Alarm Glass Break Sensor
I have not been able to test the unit using a recording of braking glass. However, customer service advised that they see it online. At its moderate price it is a must for security risk areas.
