NOTE: First thing that I want to say about this batch of gorgeous threads is that you will get 60 spools not the 35 that is shown in the MAIN photo. I'm not sure why they only show 35 but you do get 60. I really enjoyed unpacking this box of threads. I had gotten a color chart from an earlier Richword purchase and so I was able to use that to see which colors from each color family was included. With 4000 meters (4374 yards) of thread on each one they should last for a very long time unless you are a professional embroiderer. Very much worth the price as many brands of thread of this size of spool would run about $15 each! I assume you can also use these on a serger as well. I sent my DIL my serger as she wanted one, so I can't use one to test thread on. I have used Richword thread prior to this, so I knew I was getting a quality thread along with a lot of wonderful colors. In the years when I first started doing machine embroidery, I didn't always have the thread colors that I wanted. One that I had a real problem with was having only a few spools of brown thread. Of course, the brown I had ran out in the midst of a Christmas present project, at night. Is there a worse time to run out of thread? This set has a good supply of threads from each thread family in dark to light colors. So, you shouldn't run out and you will be able to use different colors in different areas when you are embroidering something. I like to be able to do sew outs in a variety of different shades of the main color to give depth to the embroidery and help it stand out. I live in a rural area and our closest fabric store is over 20 miles away, if you need thread in the depths of winter you don't want to be driving to go find it, therefore it is great that Amazon sells thread in all sorts of colors and can get it to you fast so there isn't a worry when you need items that you can't find conveniently in your local area. This Richword thread sews out well and the colors sew out beautifully. I do wish that they would have included a color chart in each box of thread that they sell so I could know what colors I have of all the sizes that I have gotten. I only have one color chart and if I lose it, I am sunk. 9-16-24 Edited to Add: With these numbersd, you can look at the color chart in the listing to see whsat colors you will receive. The colors that came with this set are: Red: 70, 39, 519, 33, 893, 1181 Pinks: 920, 14, 812, 50, 48, 540, 181 Purples: 1058, 274, 1129, 263, 270, Blues: 354, 634, 299, 707, 1086,334, 333, 323, 247 Green: 240, 238, 725, 846, 856, 1036, 204, 722, 914 Yellow: 90, 1180, 108, 815, 822, 1050, 1063, 932, 691, 674 Browns: 186, 866, 739, 864, 164 Classic/Neutrals: 402, 360, 1199, 958, 747, 1184, 401, 602, 403 I appreciate the opporunity to try out this thread. I am a commercial embroiderer and I am used to having 5000 meter cones. I do not care for the decrease of 1000 meters compared to the industry standard. That being said, there are many positive things to say about this thread. The packaging is very nice, as are the quality of the cones themselves. However, packaging doesn't really matter to a commercial embroiderer, quality does. I shared a photo of the top of a cone to show that they have an X cut into the top of the label. This is great feature &very important because normally when you put them on your machine, & try to put it over the thread spool holder, the label pops right off. Then you have no wat of knowing which color # the thread was. The strength of the thread is great, and the colors are fabulous, with a great sheen. Especially for polyester thread. I intend to use this thread at 800 stitches per minute, and when consistently used at this speed, some threads will start shredding. I will update this review when I can say for sure that this does not happen.

This complete set of 60 spools of thread is amazing. The colors are so vibrant and the assortment and hughes in every color is all you need for any embroidery project. As a casual machine embroiderer, I am sure it will take me years to go through this batch of thread. The assortment of colors give me many options when making my projects come to life. It worked nicely on my Brother Luminaire machine and I had no issue with splitting or breaking. I can’t speak to the color fastness as I have only been using it for a short time but I do not anticipate any issues. My only problem is where am I going to store these gorgeous rainbow spools of threads? For the price, selection and quality, I would not hesitate in recommending you order this.

The colors in this thread set are beautiful and are a great compliment to the brand I usually find at my local sewing shop. The spools are quite large, so you may want to measure your spool pins and make sure your machine can accommodate a large spool. (I think the measurements are in the product description). Each spool has a plastic sleeve, but there is a small perforated section that made it easy to remove. I was glad to see that because some brands don't do this and it' a battle to get the thread out of the packaging. Finding the end was also easy so I was able to start sewing with minimal time wasted for setup. I wanted to make a decorative hand towel for fall with a cute pumpkin embellishment. This set had some great options that would work well with the fabric I was using for my pumpkin and stem applique as well as the background towel color. I've attached some pictures of the finished towel to show this thread in use. The Richwold thread is just as strong and shiny as a more expensive thread. I had no issues with the thread breaking, knotting or fraying while sewing. I'm definitely happy with this thread and look forward to using it in future projects.

It's Fall, which means I'm enrolled in more classes (hobbies). I've started another round of sewing courses on both the regular and serger machines. I was told that the polyester fabric and weight of the thread in this kit is both practical to use and will work for most of my projects. It's great to practice with. The colors are SO vibrant! I start classes on the 15th. I'll practice with little items on my own using my regular Brother machine which also embroiders but I'm intimidated by the Serger. I've already tangled the thread on that machine, trying to go by the steps in the manual, so I'll wait for that class.
